Warmoth Owners Club!!

Hey guys ! My Warmoth Jazz Bass Deluxe V is finally done ! It is a very cool bass for sure. It still needs some slight adjustments here and there, mostly regarding its action, but it already plays good and sounds good too ! My luthier did a fine job assembling it.

Here's a reminder of the specs:

-Alder body with Ice Blue Metallic finish
-Maple neck
-Indian Rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl inlays
-Nordstrand NJ5F pickups
-Audere JZ3 preamp
-Hipshot Ultralites tuners
-Hipshot A bridge.
-Also have a spare black pickguard.

wow, really nice!

Took my Gecko to Larry Smoak at Wooden Wizard Guitar yesterday for all the final work. This baby is going to really be killer!! SGD ND3 Pickups (Bart P2 style). NASA grade wiring, stainless neck screws machined in. Upgrade the jack input, and a whole bunch of other details!! Will send the pics when I get it back in a couple of weeks!! Larry really liked the SGD pickups! Said it should have some great sound!! Can't wait!!

I recently purchased a Roscoe 3006 fretless so my Warmoth Gecko fretless that has served me well over the last 7 years needed a fretted neck or would collect dust.
I guess the timing was perfect because Warmoth had a nice Gecko medium 5 neck on the showcase WITHOUT the GECKO logo! :eek:
I despise that huge inlay!:)

At any rate I snatched up the neck and the transplant went great! The bass setup very good and I love the tone in the fretted configuration. Here's the spec's on the bass:

* alder body
* quilt maple top
* black korina/wenge neck with Mac Ebony FB
* Bart NTMB-18V pre
* Bart CB soap bar P/U's
* ABM bridge
* Gotoh tuners

And here's a pic:

Well, I don't know if this counts, but I'm going to talk about it anyway. I now have a FrankenJazz with a Warmoth neck. The bass is/was an '86 squire jazz that had a neck that any decent skateboarder could use for a half pipe. The body sat around for a few years and I finally bought one of the unlined fretless Teak/Ebony necks from Warmoth. I purchased some black chrome tuners here on TB, installed them and have been setting the action for the past couple of days. I've finally have it dialed in and am very satisfied with the results. :hyper:

I'll try an post a picture later.

Right on man - I don't know about anybody else here, but I'm looking forward to seeing it for one...

I just sold my G&L SB-2 during the weekend, and I had promised myself NOT to use the money for another Warmoth build.... But then -somehow- this body and neck just jumped into the shopping basket on the Warmoth website... Damn..! ;)

I have ordered a black pick guard, so basically it will be like in the first picture. I will go with black hardware for this one and maybe Fralin pick up's...
