WARNING: Jon Letts/Letts Basses

With respect to your situation and your patience…regardless of his solution for you I certainly won’t be purchasing an instrument from him, nor would I recommend him to anyone.

I’m still hopeful you get the bass you want, but this has clearly shown a person who cannot be trusted to do the work in a timely or professional manner. Not what I’m looking for from a custom instrument situation.
Exactly. Whoever said "There is no bad publicity" clearly hasn't seen this thread.

I've just registered to ask: are there any updates on this? Having read through the thread, I was thinking that by the time I got to the end there would be a resolution. But, not yet.
Last posted here: no, he is allegedly working on the bass. No formal update of yet. But Eddie is fairly active here. He can give more detail.

Assuming he is going to finish the instrument…I would guess by the middle/end of next year at this pace.

Last pictures seemed to show the bass in an assembled condition, but I’m assuming there’s finish, pickups, and more nonsense that will drag this on.

Again, assuming the instrument will be finished.

And the unspoken: will this be to Eddies parameters

Hey, thanks for the interest and welcome to Talkbass.👍🏻

Oddly enough, after my last update here Jon Letts emailed me the following day, with photos of the instrument. This is one I didn't previously have to post, showing the front.

To answer Why Nautilus's question on spec, some of the more astute on TB will notice the body shape resembles another manufacturer well known for their singlecuts. This was specifically requested by me for a number of reasons. The woods, scale length, and construction were all specified by me, and up till now Jon has adhered to these pretty accurately.

And in regards to the bass completion, while I've been a little preoccupied recently I'm going to email Jon Letts today to find out what the time scale is on completion now, because it can't be much longer.
I'll keep this thread updated on developments.😉

Satisfied customers rarely bother to post about it online, compared to dissatisfied customers, who loudly raise the alarm.

Cleary the silence means it all turned out great in the end.
Yeah, that makes total sense. I mean after all these posts trying to convince us that everything was under control and his master plan was coming together, it makes total sense that when he finally acheives his goal that he say diddly squat about it....:banghead:
