Warrior Club Part 2

@Rapisme
They only offer 2 hard cases now with one being the standard black Gator skin and black interior. They have a upgraded special edition that is tan and brown interior. They have the Reunion Blues Continental all black with the warrior embroidered soft case or an upgraded Gator Leather soft case. I have 1 of the hard cases and the are very nice. Best hard case I've ever owned, but I don't travel with hard cases much so I opted for the Reunion Blues case. I thought it would be a good switch up.

Well JD overnighted this beauty to me and I love it even more than I thought. He was right in saying that it was very powerful in the Low end. Pictures doesn't do it justice. These are the best basses I've ever owned. So glad I took the plunge and got me 2 of these beauties.

Question for some of the Warrior owners. Both of my warriors are new and I was wondering how often you guys oil them with the Anointing Oil they sale? That stuff is pretty expensive and I want to make sure they're protected. Is there a cheaper alternative that will do the same for the oil finishes?

I know I'm posting alot about my newly acquired Warrior basses here lately but I just believe what they are giving me. I played the at 2 different churches this Sunday and was amazed at the tone and play-ability these have. Several compliments about the tone and looks. I'm in love with these basses.

Warrior Owners I have a question for you. I have skimmed over most of the posts in this whole thread and seen where some owners said that Warrior had done away with the Sparkle Preamp post 2012. That is actually not true because all 3 of my new Warrior have the Sparkle Preamp. One is a 2015 and the other 2 are 2016. I was wondering where this information come from? Now saying that I absolutely love the tone of all 3 I've owned and couldn't imagine them being any better. I was wondering what ws it that the people who have owned basses with this Preamp didn't like?

It's a 2012 Signature 5
Flamed Walnut Top
Ash Body
Maple/purple heart/maple neck
Purpleheart fingerboard
Bart JJ pickups
7.8lbs.

I reluctantly picked this bass up as a trade, generally this type of bass isn't my thing. I play DB, I totally prefer passive basses and have very specific preferences to wood choices, neck profile, pickup locations etc. So I figured why not, step outside my comfort zone and try something totally different, maybe learn something new or even fall in love with the bass.

I only received the bass last night and to be honest really kind of shook my head for two hours. Decided I would do a complete set up and try a bunch of different sets of strings. The fret work is very good as is the neck pocket, I could really easily get it exactly how I want it.

It seems in the control cavity there are two trim pots which seem to control the gain of each pickup, still dialing that in. Also playing with the pickup height, still. The bass is super sizzly and the Bart pickups and pre really have a strong voice that I'm fighting against.

Overall the bass is made very well, certainly the design of the instrument is pretty unique; distance between the strings and body is tight, bridge is countersunk into the body and the neck profile is very flat. Fancy top, wood knobs really aren't things I care much about but the bass is very pretty and well done.

Any way to bring back the reddish color to the purpleheart fingerboard? Looks like the lower register of the bass where someone would spend the most time has darkened and I'm thinking it needs to be cleaned?

Suprisingly she ended up wearing a set TI jazz flats and after a round of play alongs to mostly Motown, R&B, Funk tunes I am pretty excited about the bass.
If anyone out there has a nice Warrior Leather gig bag I would trade you a brand new Warrior Form Fitted Hard case for it. I use gig bags instead of the cases. Message me what you have. View attachment 1032933 View attachment 1032934

Well here it is... my new baby... After reading the threads. Good and Bad... I took the plunge on this used DM 4. I just have never played a bass that fast. WOW... Love this thread because the info here is better than on the website... It has a serial Number DM 198-15. I see a lot of comments about trying to decode that.... Guessing a 2015? Looking forward to chatting with y'all... Take care and Rock ON... Scott

@texaspirate

Congratulations on a beautiful Warrior brother. I've read all the good and the bad on these boards and purchased 1 to try for myself. I liked it so good I've bought 3 new ones since end of last year. They are simply the best basses I've ever owned. They are a joy to play.

I cannot get over the tone and speed.... its an amazing bass .... Do you know what strings they put on them...?

It's probably Warrior Strings if it still has factory strings on. I've tried slot of strings and they are as good as any rounds I've tried. Fairly cheap to for 4 packs for $100. I purchased a 4 pack and love them. Sound great in a full band setting. Getting ready to go out to my 2nd gig today with my newest Warrior. Love these basses.
