I wanted to post some pics of my Warrior DM5 that I traded for a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the weight of this beauty @ just over 7lbs! I’m always on the lookout for a light wt bass with great tone. I wish the Warrior headstock inlay was Mother of pearl or something besides the Purple Heart. It’s practically invisible in contrast with the walnut veneer. I’ve always loved the Warrior logo. Has anyone else ever seen one done in such little contrast? I also want to ask, “What do you think About the flatness & thinness of what I would call an extreme D shaped neck?” I played on a DM 7 last year with the same neck profile with steep shoulders & extremely flat, thin D shape. I’m loving this bass!

@cbdriver

That is a nice bass and the pickup combination is one of their best. The neck and flat fretboard is what I liked best about Warriors. Enjoy that bass as it seems to be a really nice one.
Thank you! I’m enjoying the tone of the Bart’s. I usually favor the bridge PU while bumping the mids w/ the lower frequencies toggled & the bass bumped up a bit. Gives a nice growl!

I've always hated the color of my bass. I didn't order it. I bought it new from a shop. It's trans teal. Wings are ash, neck-through is mahogany and purpleheart.

I'm thinking about having it re-finished. What color? I've always loved white, but am open to suggestions.

I’d go with something translucent or just natural so the grain & neck through build is not hidden. I really dig the teal..

You don't have it anymore? Didn't you just have it made?

It was beautiful to look at but I never liked the way the bass sounded at all. It was hollow sounding and the B string was flat garbage for a bass that cost that much. Very underwhelming bass that I just couldn't get close to the tone I like in my basses. It was probably my last Warrior as the last 2 wasn't close to the level I expect in basses that cost that much.

If I didn’t own this exact bass it was almost identical. Really a great instrument. Just felt right.

I really like that color! :bassist::hyper: I had a USA MM Sterling in that color and always regretted selling it.

Just get a set of black knobs. :)
Best wishes,
Brent
