that was about when they stopped making the Fortresses... $1400 would have been a good price for a brand new German Warwick - used they sell for as little as HALF that - some great deals to be had, especially if you dig Wenge necks.

honestly, i have no experience with wenge necks so i cant use a basis of comparison to maple. but i love me some maple ;) got it all adjusted today and man does it play nice. very good for a cheapo china make.

Especially for being in "good condition," with noticeable, if only cosmetic, issues.

God bless him if he gets $2500 for it, though.

Didn't see this! 5-stringers do fetch more than 4-strings, and the Flashback IS wicked rare, but...

well i got the fortress all polished up, cleaned up, and restrung up. couple of things, the body and neck was super dry. so i lemon oiled the fretboard after a good scrubbing (man was that thing dirty) and i made a beeswax and lemon oil combo to condition the body. so all came out really good. unfortunately, i found out the tuning key on the b is jacked up. so that's on the to do list. i restrung the bass with helix's and they sound fantastic. for what i got it, it's a great deal. im super happy. i wish it was a german, but maybe next time ;)

Awesome sumgruuvz! Rock that Fortress and Welcome. I use lemon oil for cleaning the fretboard and what not, but the stuff I highly recommend everyone to try is a product from Planet Waves called Hydrate. This stuff is fantastic. (Roger Sadowsky recommends this stuff too BTW). A side benefit from it is when I was cleaning off the excess it shined up the bellbrass frets too.

You guys should check it out.
