Warwick or Pedulla?

I would never intentionally throw my Wick down the steps but these Wicks are durable, and almost need minimal maintenance, which was my point. (some waxing, slight truss rod adjusment due to climate, that's it)

Since I've never had to wax any of my Pedullas it sounds like Warwicks are higher maintenance, but who really cares, it's a moot point at best.

Buy the one you enjoy playing more.

I gigged the hell out of a Rapture for years and still kick myself for selling it when I started playing guitar full-time.It had the single Bart soapbar, which I think sounded better than the J-bass p'ups. That instrument got dragged all over with very little care and never failed me, and never failed to get comments from soundmen who said it had a SOLID bottom-end. Mebbye the Genz-Benz 4-10 helped.

Plus when I needed a saddle height screw, Mike Pedulla answered the phone and sent me a bag full, no charge. I'm a big believer in supporting the little guys who are doing what they love. Kevin Brubaker is sending me a small part gratis for my amazing Brubaker bass. Guys like Kevin and Mike may not be getting rick but they are adhering the the very best traditions of innovation, craftsmanship, and customer service.

Not that Warwick ISN'T, but the ones I've played felt... funny to MY particular hands. I'm sure they are super instruments but the necks felt kind of deep to me, and the balance wasn't what I expected. I wouldn't turn one down and I'm sure I'd adjust but I sure loved that Pedulla!

I would go with the Pedulla. I bought a Rapture 4 w/single soapbar pickup 12 years ago to use in the studio on an album we were recording, and it has been my main gigging bass every since. Sounds great, finish still looks new, is extremely comfortable from a body ergonomic standpoint, and the thin smooth neck is like buttah!

I love my two Pedulla Raptures (5 string w/birdseye FB & J-J Barts, 4 string w/rosewood FB & single Bart soapbar). Beautiful instruments with perfect (for me) ergonomics, sweet punchy sound, very easy to play.

Maybe it's because I bought mine used and pre-dinged but I don't consider Pedullas "diva" basses. They're workhorses, leaving the house more often than my other basses.

There are some Warwicks I like (especially the passive Corvette Fretless 4), and others I'd never want in a million years.
