Watchmen!!!!

My son saw a preview show yesterday, said it was amazing, but it helps if you read the novel as they throw stuff at you and without previous knowledge you might get lost. Lots of extreme violence and some cheesy dialogue.

Seeing it tomarrow.

Glad Carla Gugino, she hot!

I read that the Silk Spectre is a horrible, acting wise.

yeah but lets see slumdog have a giant blue dude and still get so many oscars.

Not quite my point but...

This movie was cool. There was a lot of stuff even deeper than the movie that you could take from it, if you really wanted to get into it. There were some parts which no other movie has and that really got me into it as well. I read about what I was going to see from the website for the movie, but never read the novel. That aside, there were some parts I didn't like. I didnt like the portrayal of Nixon. I really disliked the character Miss Jupiter, especially in her elder age and in the movie. The actress sounded like she was reading her script off a piece of paper and i just hated that. A few other small things got me. They gave all this background on everyone except for the one guy I really wanted to see the background of, Ozymandias. The defense rests.

Saw it, midnight show, IMAX. great job.Stuck to most of the story, enough to keep the uninitiated in their chairs. Slight changes amounted to a so? Was a good time for all. Only beef for me? Now i have to see it on a flat screen. The IMAX experience was near overwhelming.

Ozymandias' background info is his little speech to the buisnessmen before his assasination attempt. I'm pretty sure that that is the only description of his background in the graphic novel (as far as I remember, dont skewer me if I'm wron).

I saw it last night, it was awesome. Stunning in so many ways, and I think the plot device at the end was a fine/good substitute. I'll be buying the directors edition when it comes out, and may go see it in Imax in a week.

i saw it last night too...

the acting was better than i expected, i thought each of the characters was well cast, with the exception of Laurie....:rollno: Her best best acting was in the love scenes...she really, er, nailed those parts. Many people didn't like the voice of Manhattan, but i really thought it worked well for the character. The comedian was perfect for me.
I don't see any of those new horror films or ultra violent stuff, so i wasn't quite prepared to see some of things they 'added' to make it more of an action flick. I mean wow, this movie has some seriously graphic violence, but none if it is too drawn out.

My thoughts on the ending:
The change in the ending was expected and still fit well with the story line. I read the ending with a different meaning though. I felt like the point was that it would have to be something so unthinkable, so impossible, so alien to bring peace over the world that it was almost commenting on the impossibility of peace. This ending doesn't stray too far from that thought, but it doesn't seem as gut wrenching.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The movie was better than i expected it to be, but i'm still a little unsure about the ending. Go see it, its neat, but don't bring your kids.

The changed ending definitely made me nerd rage. I feel that the movie did a great job of the story of the superheros but that the total lack of the "normal people" side stories took away from it. The book is much better, like almost always.

Guess i'll have to wait for "Extended directors cut! 9 hours of side stories about Ozy retracing Alexander The Great's footsteps and the drama of the girl known as Charlie."

They could of drawn it out into a series of movies, could have been really rich for a movie "franchise" if done right.

I almost cried when I saw what they did to Dr Doom in the lame FF movie
