Just got back from the movie.

I really don't see what the big deal about all the sex and violence is. Like we haven't already seen that. Doctor Manhattan's penis? Who cares? Most of us have them anyway, except not blue...hopefully.

The movie itself was pretty well done. I thought it was a little too faithful in parts simply because the content didn't transition from text to film that well. It's the first movie I've seen in a while that I didn't feel cheated by the price.

Big deal about sex and violence comes from conservative prissy mothers and their husbands who fear saying no to them. Yeah, who cares is a good point...for you. But if they do care about all that stuff, then they have a good enough reason. If they dont see the movie, it wont kill me.

So the people who care about sex and violence are the people who care about sex and violence. Makes sense.

People who cant deal with violence and sex supose that everyone around them cant deal with violence and sex, and as they dont have violence and sex they have to go freaking about violence and sex all around, making the life of those who like violence and sex less violent and sexy.

Not having read the comic I liked it, overall, though the sex scene was pretty stupid. The people I went with thought it sucked but I think they missed the point entirely. Some of these characters do and say ridiculous things because they're messed up, ridiculous people, not because it's bad writing.

The gore, eh. Seems pretty standard these days. Sometimes I wish they'd leave things to the imagination more but I guess I'm kind of desensitized to it.

I saw the movie and enjoyed it for the most part. I thought the soundtrack oddly fit with the movie. Also some of the members in the audience kept snickering whenever you saw the doctor's blue member. Oh, and during the Vietnam scene, the kid behind me just thought doc blowing up Vietcong was just awesome.

yeah, that's the problem with alot of movie goers and even many critics, is that they cannot, for the life of them, switch off their "reality filter" and just let go... just so fidgety outside of their comfort zone of having a refernce point for comparison to their daily life...

Ironically, many of these same people think reality tv is real.

I just saw this yesterday. Never read the comics. Loved the movie.

So much violence and wangs. It's great!

I saw it on Fri. I guess it was ok. for a super hero movie I feel it had too much gore and sex, not that I have a problem with that, but I think super hero movies should be a bit cleaner. Gore and sex should be left alone in the great horror movies.

I watched it this past Friday and was disappointed. Having never read the GN, I went in with no background on the universe of Watchmen. Apart from the opening montage, the film dragged and the soundtrack that accompanied many of the scenes (99 Luftballons, The Sound of Silence) felt either remarkably awkward, or incredibly heavy-handed. The sheer amount of exposition was also tiring. I can understand that for a fan of the GN, the film caters to what they were eager to see, but at the same time, it came off as alienating to the uninitiated.

just to be clear, the songs were part of the GN - each chapter ended with a quote from a song. It's not like they were picked by the movie makers for some random reason.
