Way huge Pork and Pickle

Actually, both OD and Fuzz are used in different places on the opening 3 tunes. The Sly&Family (2nd tune) is OD in stereo and Fuzz in the left speaker.
Sales bs aside, the pedal is great. Have done a bunch of OD reviews, this one is actually going on MY board. As i mention in the video, the old guitar ones are unuseable for me in a live setting, so having that Clean Blend and that contour control (Clean Tone) there's loads of bottom that's not present on the old guitar versions. So that alone, combined with the value of getting both sounds in one box, It's a no brainer to me.

Many times, when a company does a bass-adaptation of an existing circuit, they seem watered down and less radical. This thing is plenty radical.lol

Sounds great, but I’m disappointed that it doesn’t blend the effects. I have the Russian Pickle. Instead of buying the Pork and Pickle, I’d be better off buying the Pork Loin and that way I can blend the two or use them independently. Not that I’m going to do that. I’ll just wait for Way Huge to update the Pork & Pickle with a blend control like they did with the Camel Toe :)

That was a great demo though.

I meant the Sabbath tune. That appeared to have the Fuzz engaged. The fuzzes were great overall, but couldn’t quite cut the muster. Great on guitar, but not my tone. The Pork Loin is actually in my guitar and bass boards! It’s probably my favorite OD that just plain works for so many applications. Of course, mine are modded, so that helps.

Opening track (Sabbath) is with the P! Love it. Just a rounder more old school vibe, but the pedal was really great w the P. (It just has flats on it currently so I didn't want to use it predominantly in the vid)

Still new to this and trying to figure out my "demo code of ethics".lol
I think I'm just going to use passive basses for the most part and not dress up the tone too much. There are so many guys heavily editing and running active EQ and amp modelling, and at that point, what does the product actually sound like? I'm just going passive bass, to pedal to interface.

I've had that problem too many times of plugging an active bass into a pedal I'd been using previously with a passive instrument, and you realize the pedal is responding incorrectly or sounds bad. This is due many times to pedal design based on inputs expecting Hi-Z input but you're plugging a 600ohm active preamp with way too much gain into the front-end of the pedal (or piece of gear), so I just assume avoid it unless people start asking for it, then I'll plug the Stingray in (for the first time in years)lol

If you want want to do one predominantly with flats...

Just saying. I love my flats. If that was done with flats, I am even more interested.

But it's kinda not two pedals in one.
While technically it is, but only one "pedal" can be used at a time.
Plus, if someone wants overdrive AND fuzz on their board, no space was saved.
Now, if overdrive OR fuzz is desired then yes, space was saved.

I'll be getting this pedal with tax monies. maybe sooner. Its weird, I still have a PL that I love. And use at home all the time. I've had the RP as well. Really liked it a lot. But it just didn't get there for me in the high end area. I'm hoping this one does the trick. In the end it may be something I don't NEED, but after hearing that demo by @dishwallascot, I'm all in. Sounds fantastic. Great demo and tutorial btw man!

I totally see your gripe with the pedal. It's 2 pedals in one. But you can only use one at a time which somewhat defeats the purpose in a way. But then like @jwr noted, this would be awesome for studio work. Not that that is a selling point for me. I'm rarely in a studio. But I still really like the idea and sounds. I wants.

Yeah, my issue is purely one of semantics and practicality.
It's a good idea in theory, but there are some issues.

That’s what I was trying to say. For my purposes overdrive AND fuzz would never be run at the same time. For me it’s either or. So this pedal works for me. I can see why it wouldn’t work for everybody but no pedal works for everybody.

The out levels for both OD and Fuzz are tweakable by internal pots, so I guess once you set them right, you can flip without needing to readjust.
