Way huge Pork and Pickle

I posted this in the Show Your Video thread but thought I'd share it here also.
I wanted to do a video using my Way Huge Russian Pickle in combination with my MXR m80 Bass d.i. +.

Just got a chance to really dig into the P&P last night. Its great. It took a little bit of fiddling with the internal pots to get it really dialed in, but I like it a lot. I'm going to look into modding the fuzz/od switch into a 1/4in jack for an exteral footswitch. It'd be really nice to switch within songs.

I'm running it in the VTDI into the front end of a 70s V4. The regular signal is already pretty dirty and the P&P accentuates it really well.

Ive only brought one thing from that street in a over 13 years. I got my Cali 76 in Dec. The price was the going rate though.
PMT have opened a store near me in central london and their prices are good, but they never have wha it weant in stock.

Boutique prices for a mass produced brand. They are pretty reasonable in the US but we get majorly screwed in Europe.

Judging by the demos available on youtube, it doesn't look like the clean blend can go 100% "clean". Is it possible to tweak the internal trim pots so that only the clean preamp is on? Because that's one of the features that I love about the original Pork Loin.

Looks like you can, according to the manual. Did you look at that?

Anyone try the Pork and Pickle on 18v? I love the sound/response/headroom of the Pork Loin on 18v - not sure if I should switch over to this (free up some room on my board), or just find a way to add the Russian Pickle MKIII instead.

This is so infuriating.
Even with import taxes there's no reason for such a markup.

I'll be patient and see if I can score a b-stock or something in a few months.

Meh - there is better out there at even b-stock prices

I’m probably wrong, but arent the advertised prices on US websites exclusive of state tax? Doesn't this get added on at checkout? If so then the prices are higher than we see on first glance. If not, then ignore my post.

Depends on the site and where its located in relation to me. For example, when I buy from Sweetwater (which is located in Indiana) they do not charge any tax to me. If I lived in Indiana, I think they would. But even though I don't get charged tax at the time of sale, I'm supposed to claim any out of state internet transactions when I file my New York state tax return every year. And of course, I do that.

Oh, and I did the calculation, with the exchange rate and the roughly 25% import tax in France, and the P&P only comes out to 175 Euros.
Someone somewhere is pocketing a nice chunk of change...

Source Audio Aftershock allows you to combine two different drive engines, stack them or run them side by side, and either output each drive through a separate out, or in mono though just one. It also has a very good EQ section, per drive engine, has a clean blend and is cheaper than the P&P. You can also store 6 user presets without needing any software. Pretty cool device.

It IS a cool device and I'm happy with mine, but in every single case, I prefer the analog versions of the pedals it mimics. However, if you want one box with a lot of choices rather than chasing the ultimate analog pedal, you can do far worse than the Aftershock.
