I feel like someone, even someone from Dunlop, said it's a 9v only pedal. But.... Hearing that 18v is better is making me think I might need to risk blowing up my p&p...yep.

I've already risked that.I feel like someone, even someone from Dunlop, said it's a 9v only pedal. But.... Hearing that 18v is better is making me think I might need to risk blowing up my p&p...
Neither my brain nor my wallet needed to know that... An 18v Pork Loin sounds like tonal bliss to me!
I had the jhs muffuletta and the ehx Russian reissue and the p&p nails the Russian perfectly. So, given it's cheaper and has a great overdrive that's also very usable on guitar and bass makes it indispensable.I know right! I have a new PnP smalls on the way, after buying and selling 4 PLs over the years. This will be the last.
And i already own a russian pickle smalls.

no, it can't unless you change the main filter capacitor to at lease 25 volts. i've replaced it with a 35 volt one in mine, and for a few TB members that wanted to run theirs at 18 volts to allow more clean headroom.OK - anybody know if the Pork Loin (NOT the P&P!) can do 18v? It's been my favorite drive for years, but if it can sound even better...
Is there a notable difference? I've performed your 1 cap mod to the Pork Loin, and if this is as simple as that was, I can likely do this mod as well. My hope would be to make the pedal more dynamic, akin to the tone of the MDB-1. I've been A/B'ing them lately, and while I can get them quite close, the Pork Loin seems "flatter" and less lively in comparison.no, it can't unless you change the main filter capacitor to at lease 25 volts. i've replaced it with a 35 volt one in mine, and for a few TB members that wanted to run theirs at 18 volts to allow more clean headroom.
IMO, it's not as simple. you have to completely remove the main PCB and very carefully use a good solder sucker to remove the 100uf cap without damaging the traces and replace it with one rated 25-35V.Is there a notable difference? Yup. Too much for my rather basic soldering skills. Did it make any difference in the tone/feel of the Pork Loin? If it improves it noticeably, I may have a local pedal guy mod it for me.IMO, it's not as simple. you have to completely remove the main PCB and very carefully use a good solder sucker to remove the 100uf cap without damaging the traces and replace it with one rated 25-35V.
here's a pic of the cap:

I got to borrow an LD.How would this stack against the Jam Lucydreamer Bass pedal?
I have both. LD has a lot of mids and it mush the attack. P&P is dark and full of lows. LD is better for dark toned basses as it is really bright. P&P has much more of volume, too.How would this stack against the Jam Lucydreamer Bass pedal?

LD has lota of mids and I found it pretty dark (through my rig at least) since I had to have the tone knob wide open.
