Actually an ad campaign with a real working bassist wouldn't be a bad idea.Someone the everyday Joe can relate to.A guy who has stayed with the product thru thick & thin.Face it,seems every 3 issues of BP your favorite bassist has switched his gear choice to the latest and greatest (or more likely the most cash in his pocket).Let's get back to basics where it all begins.There are more cats out here playing cover tunes every night than arena rockers. I believe Jimmy epitomizes what most of us would love to do, Play our instruments,make a few bucks and have a helluva good time in the process. This sounds like a match made in heaven to me.
Way to go Jimmy and good for you! You helped me with my SVT 4pro issue in a way that was really useful and considerate to boot. I'm sure there are many, many others that you have helped for no other reason than being a good guy. As far as I can tell you are usually the voice of reason and patience in any of the threads you post in (always with sense of humor!). Keep up the good work here (and on the stage). Seeing a guy like you as an endorsing artist is maybe the best proof of all that LOUD and Ampeg really are righting the ship and really are headed in the right direction (just like you've been telling us.....)

After all these years they could at LEAST give him a free amp or something...
I mean, who else was as supportive and apologetic for Ampeg when their stock was worth virtually pennies and they shamelessly started making crap in Vietnam and China? WHO else? NO ONE!!!
For Jimmy to have championed Ampeg through their most recent period of downgrading, he stands alone!
Jimmy is hands-down one of the major reasons that Ampeg even SURVIVED the last couple years...
When people's Vietnampegs were exploding...when MDF cabs were coming apart...when tolex was separating from new amps due to low cost water-based Chinese glue...when MicroVR's couldn't drive two of their own cabs...WHO was standing alone to blindly champion Ampeg??!???
