Wow!!!
After all these years they could at LEAST give him a free amp or something...
I mean, who else was as supportive and apologetic for Ampeg when their stock was worth virtually pennies and they shamelessly started making crap in Vietnam and China? WHO else? NO ONE!!!
For Jimmy to have championed Ampeg through their most recent period of downgrading, he stands alone!
Jimmy is hands-down one of the major reasons that Ampeg even SURVIVED the last couple years...
When people's Vietnampegs were exploding...when MDF cabs were coming apart...when tolex was separating from new amps due to low cost water-based Chinese glue...when MicroVR's couldn't drive two of their own cabs...WHO was standing alone to blindly champion Ampeg??!???
JIMMY!!!
Give this man a free amp. NOW.
You can't BUY that kind of brand support. Jimmy's the man.

While I don't feel like delving into problems of the past...please forgive me... who said we didn't give Jimmy an amp?![]()

As a personal note - thank you for doing this endorsement. A person does not have to be rich or famous to make a difference in this world of ours. I've long said that Jimmy is deserving of one because of his unwavering loyalty to both your brand and to the ranks of his fellow players.
Now let the guy give us a review, as only he can in his own imitable fashion, of the new B15. I, for one, would love to read it.![]()

A fair question. I'm nobody famous, but I do gigs with famous people from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Mostly Bowzer from Sha Na Na, but lots of others as well. And I wouldn't say that I know the gear thru and thru...just a fan of what they've done over the years and what they're doing now. And I head up the Portaflex Club on here![]()
Already answered earlier. I'm just a dude who plays bass and sings.
Dear AmpegUSA:
Giving credit where credit is due, your company is definitely showing some class of late. JimmyM's endorsement just further reinforces this. Good on you all at Ampeg!
My wish list:
1) Yes, I still buy Bass Player magazine, even got a subsciption. I would LOVE to open up the cover and see the Ampeg add feature our Jimmy. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
I'm sure it would resonate with the many readers here on TB as "one of our own" being recognized.
2) I can also imagine a Heritage VR.. Wow, add Jimmy as a tester and then feature him in the add in Bass Player.
Either way, this thread makes me smile. Good on Ampeg and Jimmy.
