We got bumped for.....Pitbull?

The newest lesson is that be careful what you say, because people can dig up stuff about you. Especially if you're a musician, and even more if you play in a band. Why? Because your s*** is public. Being in a gigging band is a public profession. Your stuff is out there, and you want it out there because promotion is important. But that also means that through a simple Google search, we can find stuff about you, your playing, your band, your real name, and maybe even your phone number.

I don't make boasts about my playing, because it's not hard to figure out how mediocre I am. All you have to do is click a link in my sig.

Nice dirversion.
Maybe you're right- personal shots. Sorry.
I'll keep it to the points you wanted addressed.

Please point out where from point #1) where I made it personal?
I addressed it that yes it was harsh, and it was a joke, but that's all you can hold onto.
If I insulted you, sorry for that.

Attacked your guitar player?
By pointing out that he was out of tune? Is that an attack? Or is the harsh fact just too much to hear? Or in someone's case not recognizing it?

And it would never happen you not learning something as it's supposed to be played?
Sure. Own a keyboard yet? Learn those lines on keys yet? Or doesn't it matter to you?
I was subtle before in my references hoping you would see my point.

Yes, as a teacher, I've had a few new/beginner students bring things to my attention that I wasn't aware of. The day you think you may have a firm grasp on something, someone will remind you that you don't. Regardless of their "level" of playing.
And please, define "hack" for us all.

BTW, I had a gig exactly like yours at one time. Doubled on keys and bass.
You guys play "Rio" yet?? Fun tune bass wise. You should give it a shot.
Even more fun when you sing it and play.

You are completely off topic and just taking shots at me from your first post. Its fine, I can handle it. And for someone so humble you seem to be bragging a lot. BTW I did learn Rio note for note. Spent a lot of time learning it so that I would be prepared for my band and the fans. Don't want to get booed yah know.

In ain't just metal heads, socialists, Canadians, Lemmy, jazz guys, pizza lovers, old dudes, young kids, stoners. It's this site, I swear. Everyone here needs to go out and buy a suit of plate armor, because your skin ain't tough enough for the world. If some internet comments get you this worked up, God help you when you have to deal with a real confrontation. It is funny though, keeps me entertained at work.

Not sure if this is directed at me, but I really am not worried about what people will find. I just hope that the physco's making personal attacks at me would find something better with their time then flame someone with an opposing opinion.

Because silence is acceptance and you silently let us all know clearly you have not yet taken the time to listen to those you claim you are better than.

Burlington obviously has. And he now knows more about you than you do about him and CLEARLY he is confident you are not correct in your assumption and he is offering you an opportunity to learn from this.

Take him up on it.

The famous question: "Do you believe everything you read?"

Did it ever occur to you that not everthing you read is true or contains all the details? You didn't restrict you comments to only what you read, you embellished and added lots of assumptions about this guy playing a gig you were not at and know nothing about.

Then because people pointed it out, you claimed to be a better player than them all.

And your too embarrased to admit you did this without listening to them play a single note.

Then again, I shouldn't make that assumption so I will ask.....

Have you ever heard the players you claim you are better than?

That song is about half as historicly relevant as the macaraina. In 50 years nobody will know any more about the details of those guys any more than most of us remember about the ventures and wipeout today.

Call it metal if you like but it is just another vein of popular music. yes I said it, Lars and co. are simply pop stars that take themselves WAAAAAY too seriously. No more relevant to thier fans than Brittany Spears is to hers.

-eSmith.

I never claimed to be better then everyone. At this point I am sticking around for the flaming. No I did not confirm who was the better player. I could care less. Without going back and seeing what I wrote, my intention was to defend an attack. But hey things get misunderstood all the time.

I think you and I are way to over invested in this conversation. Go on and hate me, but sorry I thought the original story was funny and I thought it was ok to boo the guy. But read some of your posts and consider if what he did was any worse then what you wrote, if its not then don't worry about.

Please point out where in my last post I was taking a shot at you.

And also where did I brag exactly?
Mearly stated that I played in a band like yours.
Doubled on keys and bass. And sang as well.
And Rio is a fun tune to play IMO.
None of that is bragging. It's just saying I've had simular experiences that you may or may not be having.

See, you have nothing because you can't argue with simple facts, so you divert.
Please again, from my post, from item #1, please address what I pointed out.

And instead of hiding behind general statments, please point out who these "pyscho's" are- I assume you are referencing me- and how exactly you are being flamed.

Chill dude, arguing with you, dosent mean we hate you. Baby Jesus say's to love all people and that dude was famous for just being alive... Now THATS Metal.

Wouldn't happen, I learn my parts. And not really??? Not the same thing.

You know that Der Commisar is done with a Synth Bass, right? So why is playing the Synth part on an electric bass for a Falco song OK, but playing a bass part on a guitar for a Metallica song a sin?

C'mon every New Wave geek knows you need that synth bass for some songs in order to get that sound. Why are you letting the keyboard player cover up for your inability to play the part? Are you some hack? If I'm paying money, I'm expecting you to play the synth part on synth, instead of cheating and playing it on bass. Or at least cheat better and use a synth pedal. And if not, the Breakfast Club to will come and boo your a** for being a such a poser and not being New Wave enough. Watch out for those New Wavers, they will tar and feather your hair. (Being sarcastic)

It's directed to anyone that makes boasts on TB.

The search isn't so they can stalk the boaster, or prank call them in the middle of night. It's to see if their claims are even close to reality.

Well I had to go back and read how it got to this point, and all I can say is people need to get their facts straight.

I'm way to over invested in this conversation. But please keep the hate coming. Only proves my point, what makes any of you finger pointers and name callers better then the person who made the original post? At least he booed a musical performance, something that can happen to even Tommy Lee, which I saw first hand, but I guess just because Tommy Lee is successful its ok, or its not ok to boo??? I really don't know, because it started getting personal real quick.

Mike Bass, keep the insults coming, maybe you can insult another band member from one of the groups I no longer play with, or how about just come out and say it " the Voiceless sucks and should shut up and never talk again".

E-smith go ahead and keep it coming..... It was fun but I guess you are right. About what I have yet to know, but unlike the person you are bashing, its quite alright to openly call someone ******** on a public forum.

And finally a few shout outs to the other participating haters, thanks for speaking your mind even if it was completely off topic (mods this thread should be moved :D) and just to send a jab my way for not condemning the person who made the original post.

If anyone cares to really find out who I am its really easy. But not sure if I should be flattered by all of the research, or concerned.

Again, I ask where I insulted you after I made an public apology for my agreed harsh comment.
And then agreed that maybe it I did take a personal shot which I fail to see to be honest, but again, apologised for it.

And I still would like to know how I insulted someone for saying they were out of tune?
That's not an insult, it's a fact.

Please, since Voiceless refuses to directly point out how I insulted him, or his guitar player, would someone else?

And I'm yet to hear Voiceless acknowledge his "better than you" comment as being wrong and a pretty big insult. But yet, will cling to things he claims as insults which are pretty trivial compared to that.

Again, Voiceless, stand up and call me out. If you can.

Hey Jive,
Not looking to get stank with you, I like most of you posts. Well all I can say is that, for me its pretty lame for a bass player to not play a part that is such a big riff in the bass world. For my eighties band I transpose keyboard parts to the bass. I really don't see this being the same as not playing a part for your instrument. But again, I am way too invested in this.

Please you and any other people that want to go ahead and search me up. Not really scared of what someone might say. I will not being doing the same for anyone else. My gripes are going to stay in this thread.

Best, Troy

Lemmy has made an impact in today's music. Started doing so, over 50 years ago.

I like Motorhead. I like you too, you're a great musician and very knowledgeable.

But I must disagree with you. Most of today's GOOD metal is far from anything Motorhead ever did. I hear almost no similarities.

Yes, they broke ground, did things a different way etc. The same way new bands are doing it.
