We got bumped for.....Pitbull?

Hack musician charges people to come to a professional event ( remember this is a club not your childs christmas recital) and can't find the time to learn a very important bass line in musical history? Really? He should be ashamed. .....

The truth is no-one knows why the guy didn't know that part.

- Maybe it was because he didn't learn and practice the song.
- Maybe the usual bassist couldn't make it, and the guy playing bass is the only sub they could find.
- Maybe the bassist actually plays another instrument, but had to play bass because they couldn't find anyone.
- Maybe the bass player is awesome at playing Jazz, but never played Metallica before, but is subbing for a friend.
- Maybe "Bells" wasn't on the set list and the bandleader called it out because he thought the people in the crowd would like it, and the bassist had to learn the song on the spot by watching the guitarist.
- Maybe the bass wasn't cutting through the mix, so the guitar player handled it.
- Maybe the bass player's distortion pedal before the gig, so he had the guitarist play the part.

There's lots of reasons other than laziness or lack of talent.

Why don't we all just agree that all music genres suck, all bassists suck in general, plus adding that everybody here is a better sucko bassist than everybody else here?

Then we can all be at point zero and head over the the Other Topic forum and argue about other stuff.

Good reasons. One I was thinking was maybe the guitarist is a douche and insisted it was a guitar part or just thought it sounds better on guitar and the bassist just didn't feel like arguing.

Or!!! Maybe he could really care less and doesn't think it's that important who plays the part as long as it's there?

Again, besides us bass nerds and die-hard Metallica fans, I'd be willing to bet not many even know it's bass.

And where did theVoiceless go???? Maybe he's living up to his name??? (or went and bought a tuner for his guitar player)
;)

Alright Skippy.
I was being light hearted in my very first post where I quoted you with the "nutsack" comment, and addressed it as such.

But no it wasn't me who called you ********. And please defend yourself when you have to.

I don't recall him knocking you musical ability, but you went right there with him (maybe he did and I missed it- I could be wrong here). And yes, elevating yourself above someone else is indeed degrading them.
Especially when it's something as subjective as music and ability.
Offended?? No, but when I see crap spewed like "I'm better than you..." type comments made by anyone, I call them out. And you my friend should maybe relax a bit in that area.

And no thanks for the MP3's to be sent. I heard enough......just sayin'......

And the hack/professional comments....I would be happy to slam dunk you and point out where your lacking in judgment on someone being a hack or professional:
One of which is if you claim to be aware of your abilities you would keep your mouth shut and not place youself above anyone else. That's pro 101 right there alone.
Anoither is maybe requesting that your guitar player play in tune on a track (of YOUR band) that's posted for the public to hear.
Nothing more painful than hearing out of tune playing. And not much worse than maybe someone not even KNOWING when they hear it.
So, you wanted some specifics??? there you go.
No don't be a d!ck because I gave you a few specifics YOU asked for.

And if you would like to take a shot at my abilities, go ahead. I welcome it.
I don't claim to be anything of any sort, and please ask around, as I never placed myself above ANYONE as a musician. (unless it's Munij ;) )

WOW!! You are wound a bit tight.
A) you are not even sure what I have written to this point, nor do I or do I care this far gone.

B) you went out of your way to find ways to insult me and NOT EVEN MY PLAYING!!! Leave my guitar player out of this. That is just a cheap shot.

C) I responded generally in my first response. Then made specific responses to specific statements.

D) So you are saying your no better then a novice or the guy that picks his bass up once a year and calls himself a musician? Because you never put yourself above someone, right?

E) you think saying I have zero ability and something about nutsacks is not as rude as booing someone in another public forum? Difference is YOU are the one booing, I'm just the guy that said it was justified to boo him. But you seem to think that makes me guilty by association.

F) your defending someone else in most of your comment. If I did not address you, means it was not ment for you.

Sure, could happen to anyone. Poor guy. Guess we shouldn't critic musical performances. All I have to go on is what was written.

I was not the one booing. Nor have I ever done that to anyone. But I guess it doesn't matter at this point, people have already formed an opinion.

Oh, there you are!!!

See fellas, metal heads are smart, they know their ABC's.....

1) Let's clear this up, I adressed the fact that it was harsh (nutsack comment) and noted that- and referenced the joke there. Forgot that didn't ya?

2) I didn't insult your playing. Please find where I did. Just referenced ways in which you criticize others about being hacks and lack of professionalism, when in your own band, there is a deficiancy. Not a "cheap shot"- fact. Just before you have the nerve to slam someone regarding those things, you should maybe look in the mirror.

3) So, if I came to your show, you would have ZERO issues with me booing you because you didn't take the time to learn "Hungry Like The Wolf" note for note?????
Because, according to your logic, if it's not "right" I can boo you and you're a hack.
Just clear that up for me ok? Because you did say that it was justified.

4) Having given lessons for years has shown me, that yes, even a beginner can show me something I don't know.

5) Again, never said you have zero ability. Get it straight. Maybe lacking in a few areas IMO sure.

Way to make it personal. So who is worse? You our the original poster?

I've heard the tune hundreds of times over the years. But I don't know the tune and I'm not at all ashamed that I don't know it.

In response to Mike Bass

Point one or A)Just because you disguise your insult as a joke does not make it funny or not rude----As you continue to make it personal

Point 2-----No you did not insult my playing, only my innocent guitar player. What a stand up TB member.

Point 3) It would never happen, I do my homework. Not sure why you are quick to defend someone you never met. Sure come by and Boo. I will use your entry fee to wipe my tears.

Point 4)----Really, so you are saying that the years and hours you may or have not spent learning your craft does not mean you are a better player then a beginner or hack? How does that work, and you give lessons?

Point 5) Again, personal shot. At this point how are you different then the person who posted the topic?
