Whackiest mass-produced basses?

They tried three different body styles with this bass and it still never caught on. I love them.

This is the SB-202 (same bass as the B-301/2). I also had an X-701, but can't find a picture of it. It had a real "Metal" body shape, but same pickups, pickup placement, and hardware.

I know this was already posted by the OP but I'd like to add that when I saw this bass on stage in the mid eighties I thought it was the coolest and most futuristic looking bass ever. I think it's a great looking design but since I never had the opportunity to play one I have no idea if the playability, reliability or sound is up to par with a well made traditional style bass.

I never got to try one but I had the G707 guitar. It was a nice guitar. Played great.

...along with this Guyatone from the '60s which Musicvox... borrowed from. Both bodies were 'different', but not whacky.
