Yep, the drummer and I grin to each other a lot. The others don't seem to notice.
Not going to read ten pages to see if I'm repeating anyone's post, but my excuses:
1) It's not about the notes you play, but rather it's the notes you don't play.

- I am a hobbyist making stone picks that I sell but mostly give away. They made me do this anyways.
This thread got me thinking.....Let's assume an average song is 4 minutes. Let's also assume an average of 100 bpm. If we play one note per beat, a 40 song set will have 16,000 individual notes to play (and remember). If I miss 8 notes, I played 99.9995% correctly, if my math is right.).........No excuse necessary.....

I recently flob the heck out of You maybe right the verse part at the start supposed to be A E B G E I completely left out the B section went right for G 
had to edit out the video of that song no excuse other than our first show of 2018 and the brain and the fingers hadn't hooked up yet it was song two of 54 songs that night, I more than made up for it later

The numbers are not so easy: It depends which note you miss. Playing 3 instead of b3 on a chromatic connecting passage is WAY DIFFERENT than playing 4 instead of 1 at the climax of a piece...
Note all notes are created equal.
I simply do not approve that particular note for that particular spot. All notes must be pre-approved. I AM the bassist!
