What album has kept you alive?

The Clash - London Calling

Songs that got me through some really hard times in my life:

Another Rainy Night - Queensryche
Strength - The Alarm

Albums would be Moving Pictures, A Fatewell to Kings, Somewhere in Time, The Wall, Aqualung - albums that remind me why I play bass and bring a smile to my face thinking about all the joy music (and bass) has brought me over the years.

So sorry for your loss and please take time to remember every thing that is going well for you.

Condolences on the loss of your Dad. I went through that in 2006. When that happened, the album by the Finn Brothers "Everyone Is Here", an album from a couple of years before, became forever attached to the memory, but in a comforting way. The reason was this song. It helped me let go with peace in my heart.

In 1994, I had made a HORRIBLE decision that altered my life, and could have even landed me in jail if things went more sideways than they already had. I got involved with a business started by a "friend" who, as it turned out, was kiting checks. Though I didn't know what he was doing - only figured it out later when the scheme came crashing down as it always will - I could have been implicated as my name was on some documentations he was using. I was jobless and severely depressed, and then, out of the blue, a familiar voice released a terrific album that cut through to my heart. It was Richard Page and Third Matinee. It was like an old friend coming back into my life to comfort me.

Peace. Great thread! It can be tough generally, this time of year, so thanks for your grace and presence. Good going.

Music can do so much. I can't name just one album but one song that got me through a moment of deep despair, like a lifeline, is Nina Simone's Feeling Good. Again, peace. Take good care :)

"Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" always makes me laugh, especially if I'm watching the original movie scene with the song. It's ridiculous but my humor is just dry like that. Otherwise an album that tends to put me in a better mood is "Breakfast in America" by Supertramp, talk about a fantastic album.

Sorry to hear about the bad time you've been having. Just know that things will turn out better!
