What are pickup covers for?

It's really about the tone. My new Badass3M really gives me a great 'P-bass with flats' kind of sound.

WOW brother that pup cover is awesome, does it come with the built in damper too? Does it come in other colors ? I need one to match the badass bridge,with tremelo, on my rad SX PJ bass.

I did see a camo-print model once but, the guy had removed it from his bass and was using it to reattach the bumper on his truck.

need help installing 2 pup covers. mine are both 8 ohm covers. should i install them in series or parallel if my amp can go to 2 ohm. my cab is also 8 ohm.

My squire bronco has a pickup cover, and I think I know why. When I opened it up I saw that the pickup had 6 poles. I had been playing with a guitar pickup for my first three years as a bassist. I tried to take the cover off and it was stuck, but I guess it's not a big deal. I'm disappointed with fender though for being semi-involved with a bass that has a crappy guitar pickup.

I like the way Markbass' pickup covers sound but cant get past the black and yellow.
