What I play is determined by the venue.
If I am playing a large venue, or an outdoor show I will play the HA3500 Hartke head coupled with the Hartke 810.
If it's a small show with plenty of PA support I will run my Ampeg 4X8 combo (Not my rig of choice).
If I am doing an acoustic set I will break out the Hartke B900 Combo.
I prefer Hartke. The sound and tone is what I like. It's crisp, clean, and clear. There is plenty of power.
Bass-wise I will normally play a Fender Precision Special (deluxe). However, I can also be found with a G&L L2000. Both are 4 strings. I have stopped playing 5s for some reason.
I have an array of effects, but I rarely plug anything in anymore with the exception of the Programmable Sansamp. I love that thing. Most of what I record is done through the Sansamp alone.
