What Are Your Other Creative Interests?

3D track design and building for racing games. I prefer to build from scratch, as opposed to recreating existing tracks. It's a shame the MWO project died, as I was involved it that, but that's the hazards of indie development. I also did some static items.
Along with that, I recreated something I drew in HS art class in 3dsMax.

I have some track vids on YT as well.

I like a beer you can chew.

+1

I like cooking and briefly had a desire to go to Cullinary school before I went to Grad school.

I make art Oil Pastels are a favorite medium and in my single days I loved creating ceramic sculptures. Reading is also a favorite pastime which my kids have taken on as well. Even before she could read my youngest (now 12) used to carry books with her wherever she went.;)

As a creative outlet mainly photography, I'm a film guy, if you see some of the pictures made of my instruments are done on medium format film. Cooking is another on, albeit not very creative, but does make my wife proud if we have guests coming over. Also play guitar as well, been wanting to take up the drums, but current situation does not allow me.

Working as a marketing professional my job requires some creativity, but not overly so, so I need some other outlets.

I always loved knives and working with my hands so it kinda just happened. My first knife I made out of an old file using a 1x42'' belt grinder. Heat treated with a small forge.

After that I fell in love with it and invested in a bunch of raw materials, studied metallurgy built a bunch of fixed blades, got a drill press and started making folders. My first folder had an assisted opening mechanism. I built a 2x72'' belt grinder and was ready to get serious but college makes hobbies kinda hard.

That's really cool. Beautiful knife by the way.

Interesting thread - I'm artistic & creative as well. Used to draw & paint a lot when I was younger & angrier, and as I've mellowed out that turned into graphic design/photography mostly for my career (I'm a marketing manager) but I guess you can distill that down to being good with my hands (something in common with the cranking off guy, LOL)

I also like to sew, cook, garden, read, road biking - other introverted activities, as is bass playing, I suppose!

I'm a linguist. I think that's creative, but a few people may beg to differ haha

I'm a linguist, too!! Well... i went to school for it... i program databases for clinical drug trials as a job though...

My creative outlets include: linguistics, martial arts (22 years), cycling/building bikes (frankenbikes, especially 'tall bikes'), cooking (vegan!), painting (watercolor), and modding old video games (NES and SNES). Regarding the last, i'm also trying my hand at building my first videogame thanks to some advice from my girlfriend's mom's boyfriend... who's a programmer for Bethesda Softworks!

Besides holding down the pocket, I keep an eye out for good bands/artists playing in my town and go see them. I'm also a pretty good cook and I work out. I'm also starting to explore the world of setting up a bass, still bass related but I'm adding that because it's mechanical and not musical and also I don't want to sound too boring, lol.

I modify/fix/replace the electronics in old guitars for fun (and in some cases, profit).

A lot of times when I'm working, plumbing tends to demand a good deal of creativity. There's never any straight runs, it's always a convoluted mess that needs to be re-plumbed.

I want to write, but I never have anything to talk about that can't be summed up in a post here in OT. I need some inspiration, I guess.

I'm a builder, and I always admire and respect plumbers who work with me. Done well, plumbing is art. Done badly,well...you know!

Aside from the Drag Queenie thing...........I'm a very avid Model Railroader, I build models appropriate for the early to mid 1970's in HO scale.
