Honestly the only thing I can think of is an adjustable built-in brick-wall limiter on modern active bass outputs so you can adjust how much you're able to overdrive the pre on a vintage tube amp.

Whenever some inebriated, sweaty, shirtless dickhead thinks he can run up on stage, grab your mic and start unintelligibly blabbing the wrong song lyrics to some random song you're not even playing in the first place, he gets shot with a beam that zaps him into a drunk tank 100 feet underground that hoses him down, makes him a cup of coffee and only allows him to leave when he sobers up.

Someone hurry up with that one, dammit... I could've already used it a half dozen times this summer.

Seriously though, I would love to have a ultrasonic cleaner PEN. Filled with some liquid like isopropanol alcohol or something. After a gig you let each string go through the "tip" of the pen that douses it with the fluid as well as sending ultrasonic cleaning so you totally de-gunk your strings. Of course, a system like that would contain a "empty" side, to fill up with the gunk and fluid, so you must have some blow/suck system going, or similar.

I kinda feel like we collectively should switch to three conductor wires or something and just power active basses with the amp. We're already having to plug in anyway.

I'm pretty sure certain Markbass heads have that ability.

My contribution to this thread? Rotating headstock logo. Flick of a switch and your Squier goes from Fender to Gibson to Rickenbacker.

On a serious note - I've always thought about an onboard digital multieffects with a readout screen on the upper bout of the bass. Could be witchable via detented knob and pre-programmable via USB.

How about a pedal that makes your electric sound like an upright?

Some have tried, while not succeeded, read my elaborate post above what's needed to get close and cigar, for emulating upright on any electric. "Pedal" is the equivalent of effect rack or synth pickup. Today with Danish company JamOrigin MIDIBass you can use any bass and plug into any sampler with an upright bass sample. If that is any good, I don't really know (... well, I sort of do, and it isn't a good idea) but the "pedal" is by and large just in another casing right now, a computer, or rack unit.

I feel glad that more than one here has "got" what the Moog guitar is about. I would like to see it on bass too, but skip the polyphonic sustain. It's unwieldy.

Actually, I've had some good success with evolving drone bass tones by just using Ebow on guitar and then using an octave pedal. Tracking isn't a big issue for sustained notes.

Unfortunately no looks like it is made for a Strat but I wound think it would with a bass
