What bass would James Bond play?

The Westone Rail, fo' sho'.

I'm only half-joking here.

A student of mine has shown that his talents don't stop at playing music - they extend to BUILDING basses as well. He's up to 3 so far, and each one is a big step over the last.

He's given them three-digit serial numbers (#001, #002, and #003)... so I'm thinking of purchasing the seventh one (when I can afford it and I know just what I want).

But I thought it would make a great thread: What kind of bass do YOU think 007 would have played? Something imminently "Bond... James Bond" and nobody else. Understated, yet wonderfully classy, unique, yet versatile and useable (unlike a bass made out of, say, the skull of a longhorn steer), and the kind of bass that anyone could pick up and say, "wow".

So whaddya think? ;)

james bond? - a jaguar of course :)

All very well and good, except James Bond would NOT play bass, at all. He's much too involved with saving Her Majesty's Empire, and fighting off Communists and other organized criminal syndicates with evil plots to destroy the world. Seriously, I know JB very well, he's not into bass.
