Tonight: Rivertown Brewing's Pumpkin Ale. Rich, buttery, strong molasses and brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg - almost a dessert beer. Not as good as the Wolaver or Weyerbacher pumpkins.

I agree, but it was in the store I was in at the time. Not bummed.

Currently, I'm drinking this though.

Don't let it's humble appearances fool you. This is my first tutored Juan Beer. It's officially a belgium styled IPA done green dragon style. If you don't know what 'green dragon' style is, look it up and you'll smile. It's the perfect blend of my two favorite vices. So since belgium styled IPA done green dragon style is too hard to say, we just call it Juan Beer, because when you drink one you're all number Juan. :D

Had a lot of beer last weekend.

Went to Millstream in Amana, Iowa. I had their amber, stout, wheat, and wit. Didn't have their Iowa pale ale and this somehow wasn't in their sampler.

Also picked up a Belgian dark rye, which I haven't tried yet.

Overall, great beers. Not the most impressive brewery/bar. They had a few local meat snacks that I suppose went with their German heritage.

Been working on the Duck-Rabbit Porter the past couple of nights. It is a different porter taste for sure. I keep thinking that it would make a mighty fine doppelbock, which makes me even more anxious to try their doppelbock, the Duck-Rabbator. Hmmmmm...........:hmm:

Last night I had Stone Brewing's Double Bastard Ale for the first time. I've been a big fan of their Arrogant Bastard Ale for years, so I figured "Double" must mean bigger, better, more flavor, more arrogance...?

Well, it was good, but I'm not sure I could tell the difference between Double Bastard and normal old (presumably single) Arrogant Bastard...except that my wallet was considerably lighter.

Anyone ever had them side by side? I might need to do an A/B test.

Did you not notice that the Double bastard is around 10% ABV? Its a double recipe, using twice as much ingredients.

We're playing this weekend at a pretty cool cigar bar where there is a decent beer selection. So last night I got there and ordered an Optimator. The guitar player and I were chilling in a booth right before start time, when the waitress brings over another Optimator. At 8% it ain't really a session beer, ya know....but I hate to waste good beer. :D Then, someone bought the band a round and, yes, I had to drink that one too. I never drink that much at one time. Interested to see what happens tonight......:smug:

my friend came over from LA and brought the 2 on the left in his rucksack - respect! very tasty they were too. although the Sublimely Self Righteous was a heavy brew, for sure... the Chang is Thai, from my local off licence. I'd highly recommend it as one of the lightest, most refreshing things i've ever tried.

While hanging out in NYC Friday night waiting my son, wife and I stopped in the W Hotel in Times Square for a couple of beers. Had an Innes and Gunn Original - the first time I've had their beer - and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I picked up 2 four packs of their Highland Cask 18 (matured in oak casks used to mature 18 year old single malts) and enjoyed a couple of bottles while watching the Packers and the Vikings last night.
