After the Unibroue talk in the grilled cheese thread, I decided to pick up a 6 pack of this last night:

VERY good. It's 9% ABV but you would never know it just by taste. Pours *almost* as dark as a stout, but not quite. The taste is really unique - it's definitely a trappist-style ale, but... different. A little malty, yeasty, spicy, but very, very fruity. Like dark berries. Delicious. Definitely gets better as it warms up.

Will do, I never tried their imperial porter.
Yeah Brooklyn's pretty good all around in their beers, the only one that I disliked is their Pennant Ale. I found it too strong. Normally I like a beer with a punch to it, but this one didn't have the right balance. It tasted too "burnt and syrupy" if that makes any sense at all...

The guys who set up the Brooklyn Brewery wrote a book about their adventures. Fun read, especially for anyone (like me) who has ever considered setting up a microbrewery as a possibility for their "semi-retirement".

I see that at the beer store every time, but never picked it up because I hate to be committed to a sixer of something I never tried then really didn't like.That happened with the sixer of Flying Dog Old Scratch I got a while back, which didn't do it for me; I gave it to my neighbor and he loved it. Oh well....

I'm grilling some cheeseburgers tonight and will have some Sierra Nevada Kellerweis with it. It's okay with food, but I won't buy it again, too bland for my tastes.

Well this one is far from bland, and it'd go with burgers just fine. I'd recommend giving it a shot sometime!
