What did I buy??

By chance does it have any paper work with it? Or does it give a Model Name like"Fender Bassman". "Fender Showman" "Fender Twin".
It doesn't have any paper work. It came from a charity tag sale or silent auction. The person who donated it left it there. The volunteers tried to tell me it was an amplifier. I told them there was no place to plug your instrument into it. A shouting match almost ensued. He demanded to know if I wanted it or not and took it to where you pay and sat it there. He got even angrier when I told him I couldn't lift it. Two other people put it in my SUV. It weighs about 50 lbs. My sister and I moved it with a dolly. I like it a great deal and will get it fixed. I'm used to a combo amp and speaker. I have tube amps and a 1982 Fender Studio Lead. I'm learning about this cab and amp heads by leaps and bounds. Fascinating yet intimidating.

I posted quite a bit as I was able. Sorry about whatever I did that was wrong. I thought I posted quite a bit. Sorry again!! Thanks for the feedback. Folks may not hear from me for a whole til I make further progress. Again thanks for all the good help fro. From very generous players!!!
To lowner is to start a thread then never post in it again. It's a reference to old TB member Lowner.

<edit> Wow. I just went back and reviewed some of her posts. I didn't remember how pervasive her lownering was, and it was really unpopular.

I did say from the beginning that I was sorry that for right now I don't play bass. I play guitar and violin. O was told by the seller it was a bass amp. Again I'm sorry.

I don't think Munj was referring to you.

My remark was a compliment. Apologies not needed.

Once you put it in the public domain, people get to ask. It happens in real life too, the land outside the internet. Some might venture to, gasp, ask many unintended things out in that crazy place.
I'm enjoying this conversation quite a bit. I'm sure buying what I was told was an amp knowing it wasn't probably seemed pretty silly!! If you're not sure what something is, be careful when you decide to roll the dice. I love the cabinet and all the learning I'm doing through this forum. Thanks do much!!

@Fndrgrl thank you for following up, glad to see you returned to this dumpster fire and actually took the entire thing in stride. World needs more people like you, with a sense of humor! Cheers to your new purchase, it looks great!
I love this silly cabinet. I hope I get all I need to go with it. Will enjoy using it when it all comes together!!

Biiiiiiiig +1

I fail to see any connection between *why* she bought the cab and her request for help to identify it. I didn't need to know *why* she bought it in order to provide help in identifying the cab. She can buy whatever she wants for any reason she wants, just like the rest of us! ;)
Thanks. I'm sure buying something and not being sure what it really is seems crazy to somye. Buying at tag sales or charity events can be risky especially with electronics. Believe me Ill be careful going forward. Thanks for your kind reply!!

You already got your money's worth out of it in learning and education (thanks to your great attitude).

You've done nothing wrong here.

Amazing how "nice" charity workers can be.

Rock on Fender Chick.

Thank you so much. I'm listening to music in a different way paying more attention to base lines and learning patterns. The connection between bass and percussion is pretty fascinating. Learning about gear is pretty intense. I used to let my guitar teacher just advise me as to what to buy and how to use gear. It some point I had to get more independent and it seems crucial now. I guess I couldn't stay a gear rookie and expect to grow as a player. Does that seem correct??

I play other instruments as well, but...
Bass is the place for me!
