Nothing at all bass-related, but I received a cool and unique gift from my son. He commissioned a friend of his to do a painting of my two favorite fictional private investigators, Archie Goodwin and Nero Wolfe:
From my wife, a BDDI. I'm like, "How did you know to get a BDDI?" Apparently she had saved a list from several years ago. Totally unexpected and cool!

Kind of bittersweet. I only got this because I sold my favorite bass to pay for some unexpected home repairs. Still a great instrument that it a worthy replacement.
I'm 100 pages in. Highly recommended portrait of the artist.
It is a 4004 Laredo with the bridge pickup moved back and the neck has 4003S features (white TRC, Schaller open back tuning keys, and fingerboard dots).

Mmm, that bongo. Orange is the best. Buuuuut.... Black PG is better with orange.
Used a 20% off coupon and a trade-in + $180 and got a brand new Fender American Standard P-Bass in sunburst with rosewood.
It's like coming back home for me, as my first Fender bass was a new 1995 sunburst/rosewoood P. I let go of my '95 about three years ago. The 2015 is an even better bass. Delighted with it. Got it last week as my present to myself.

My daughter got me Robot Turtles. That's a board game for us to play together. Really that was my wife since my daughter is almost 3.

Nice!! My former teacher/mentor took lessons from him way back,he even got him to do a workshop at my college, very informative so I'm sure that book will be awesome!!
I got my wife a car for her birthday/xmas present so we both can have vehicles!!
So I decided to get myself a few things off eBay
I'm also awaiting a DOD FX25B from the classifieds here!!I decided to get away from the Source Audio stuff as they'd *almost* get me there sonically but never 100%, so back to a mostly analog board! I couldn't afford to just buy these so I had to sell a few things to afford them, but I know what to expect from these so this next year I should be happier with my tone with these tried and true gems!!
Got two JBL PRX710 (10" powered - wood cabs) for my (small version) PA system!
