Today I learned that there are pickups that basically will NOT work without a specific preamp.
I pickup up a Nordstrand MM4.3 pickup for a decent price but when I asked the people at Nordstram if they had any wiring diagrams they stated that it will only work in a Sterling bass with the three way switch. By all reports it works very well in that scenario...... unfortunately for me, they stated that "It will not work without a lot of trial, error, and tears to be honest. And probably not even then! It's a specific pickup for a specific preamp"

I've never heard of a gravel shortage, nor have I heard of seasonal gravel! And I didn't think gravel availability would be affected by supply chain issues, but it seems that anything's possible nowadays.

I haven't touched an Xbox in about 12 years. My wife, bless her, decided that it would be a great idea to get an Xbox one for our 11-year-old daughter.
The interface is the most convoluted bunch of garbage I have ever seen. Try finding where you can change the settings necessary to allow Roblox to communicate with the outside world only to the extent necessary to play the game.
I hate console gaming, I have for years. The past 14 hours have reminded me precisely why.

On 24-Dec I learned my wife and three adult kids can not be in the company of each other for any amount of time.
I went to the Long Beach Aquarium just before Christmas and learned (a) that there is a fish called the "sarcastic fringehead" and (b) that there is a shrimp called the "sexy shrimp." True story.

Just now I learned that my father signed up for some robo-call filter thing. Now when I call my parents I have to enter a 2 digit code the robot voice tells me. Then it hangs up on me. It's been an hour and about 15 calls and I can't reach them. Now I gotta drive over there and find out what the hell is going on!
Edit: the robo cop is gone. The internet/ tv/ phone modem needed some sort of reset from Wave, the provider.

When exposing the antagonistic contradictions in people's arguments, rather than solve these issues they would rather abuse you.
What else did I learn today?
That many who believe in the paranormal have a distrust and hatred for science, fail to grasp the significance of scientific analysis and the scientific relevance to reality or what constitutes as real...
They will tell you that Ghosts are real and science is "hogwash"...
What really puts poop in their logic is when you point out that if:
A, Ghosts are real
B, any investigation into what constitutes as real is hogwash,.
then ipso facto A+B scientifically means C: Ghosts are hogwash...
You can't say something is real by dismissing science.
