I learned our state government is still working hard to scuttle our public education system.
I learned, twice...because once was not enough...that the city of Nashville has done a pretty crappy job of 'signing' its roads. It's confusing and even dangerous. We were quite obviously not the only people from out of town who had absolutely NO idea what was coming next...and this is the age of GPS!
OH! and the other thing I learned today...Bela Fleck is an unassuming, understated genius, as is Chick Corea...oh, wait, I didn't learn that today, but it was really nice to be reminded...

I learned that five weeks is not enough time after major surgery to spend 5 hours in a car. It was very uncomfortable...but not nearly as uncomfortable as the 8 hours I spent in a car 2 weeks ago. That trip damn near killed me.

I aways found that slogan to be very demotivating because I don't see soldiers as the greatest example of human potential.

I learnt that the word kicky-wicky is one of those rare Shakespearean neologisms that never took off.

Today I learned that 106 days after a stroke that nearly killed me, I could walk 17, 529 steps equaling 8 miles according the Fitbit. Yes, I am exhausted, but it's a good exhausted.
I've learned - not so much today, as over time - the older I get, the gassier I get, even as my diet improves.
