What do you hate about your favorite bass?

Out of my main basses, I wish my:

Eshenbaugh 7-string had <35" scale and more end-user adjustability in general, especially since the builder is a bit tough to contact these days

Hanewinckel 7-string had a thicker neck front to back (it's perfectly stable, just way too thin!), fewer knobs, and maybe something other than Bartolinis

Godlyke Disciple had a little more character or impoliteness to the tone and a better bridge design

G&L L-2000...didn't have inlays?

That's actually a very easy fix. I've replaced the foam under the pickups in several of my basses, and even did it for a guitarist just yesterday who had the same problem.

It's easy to find that real thick, firm black foam rubber at hardware stores. I usually buy .5" thick sheets, but if you want to play safe, get .25" sheets and stack them if you end up needing more thickness.

Just open your bass, pull the pups, cut the foam to size and drop it in (either on top of the old foam or replacing it completely. Really nothing to it!

If it had a hard maple neck or even wenge I still would have owned it. It was a great bass outside of the neck moving so much.

My Ibanez has an annoying scratch in the paint right next to the input jack. That really grinds my gears. And then my SX still as the crappy stock strings (I'm a poor lil' student, haha). And my MIM P bass is currently string-less and being re-built.

Favorite bass in terms of currently owned, I don't really hate anything at all about my SBMM Ray34 outside of it not being a real MM (which doesn't really bother me all that much) and the pickup is just different enough to prevent me from getting a standard MM pickguard to exchange it. My other favorite is my Spector Rebop, which is just a little neck heavy, and I hate that there are two volumes instead of volume and blend.

My all-time favorite bass is a Warwick Streamer Stage II, and the only thing I hate about that is how expensive it is and how it will be a LONG time before I even have a chance to own one!

My Favorite bass is my 2008 Fender American P bass with Nordy PU. I love everything about it except for the slap tone. It doesn't suck, but it is nowhere close to a Stingray or Jazz slap tone. If it had a Jazz slap tone it would be all I play.

Another favorite is my Gibson Thunderbird .... these do not fit into any standard gig bag and the factory case is absolutely massive. I wish I could take it out in a gig bag without 3" of the headstock sticking out of the top!

The only thing I truly dislike about my Alembic Series II is that I have to remove 4 screws to change the batteries.

And she chews through batteries 2 at a time as if they're Starburst chewies. Makes me love the external power supply that much more.

speaking of this bass..its my favorite
the only thing i dont like is sometimes when i bump the p pickup the sound cuts out but this is a wiring issue thats getting resolved..and its my fault.

oh yeah and i hate that i cant swap between flats and rounds on it instantly..once again no fault of the bass

The only things that come close to "mildly annoying" me about my Czech-built Spectors is that they don't route the electronics cover to sit flush with the body, and that there's no separate battery compartment. But considering the $2,199.99 I've saved between purchasing a Euro ReBop bolt-on as opposed to a USA Bolt-On, I think I can hold off on crying in my sleep about it. ;)

ok my thunderbird at the back is so heavy i cant use it on gigs plus its also top heavy
my green aria has a few problems (i dont mind the outta phase pickup) but it buzzes at 4th fret
my peavey doesnt like any strings thicker than 40s
my squier jazz gets me alot of "your not a real bass player cos you play a squier" at gigs
the stingray copy has horrable active electronics
the p-bass copy when i brought it had no imput so i had to get one fitted
