What does your home practice setup look like?

I lost my office/music room after my daughter was born11 years ago so now my practice space is me at my computer desk in the dining room with my bass plugged into my Mac via Irig Duo Pro listening with my 20 year old Sony studio headphones while my wife gripes “I can still hear you” as she watches whatever housewives of whatever city. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.

I use the same setup for practice and gigs

I REALLY need to clean up my man cave/practice area. Other stuff you are not seeing is a little bar area with a sink and small refrigerator to keep my ice tea and diet coke and a full bathroom. If you look behind the drum set, you can see my balcony that looks out onto a defunct golf course and our pool.

When I play out, it is all DI and IEM monitoring.

Dan

I have two practice areas. There's a small studio in one of the bedrooms where I keep my Fender Rumble 100 and there's the rehearsal studio that we converted our garage to, which has full PA, drums, and my main stage rig. For just learning and practicing parts I usually use the Rumble but for full band rehearsals we're in the bigger room.

Ok, I'll bite. I really like this setup. Bass can go through the Flyrig or a Fender Rumble 40. I like that it encompasses allot more than Bass. I think I get much better on Bass by playing other instruments IMO. Everything goes through a Zoom Mixer recorder into Loopstaion RC-30 and then into a Mackie Freeplay, which can go out to a 1200 watt Pa speaker too. SO i Can Sequence with the Beatstep, key step and the Volcas. ( Bass Station 2 coming soon!) I can run anything going through the board to the Loopatation. I can call up a song on the iPad, record to the Zoom if I'd like. For a song I need to learn, a can Tap tempo to match rhythm and record a drum beat to practice over with the BeatStep sequencer. I Run an electric Guitar through the other Ten 21 fly rig. (pod is for Volca Keys effects) Plus I have a Vocal Harmonizer. I have a Roland electric kit too. All in all allot of fun.

You need a daw. Cubase, ableton, pro tools. If you are using all that your life would be so much easier. Not to mention being able to edit loops in an instant. Cut and paste takes as many times as youd like and unlimited effects.
You are already doing so much that a daw does with hardware it just makes sense.

The Fender is active and it works well for practice... I'm in a condo and cant play loud. I don't use the Ric with that speaker.

Perfect plan with that setup. I approve fully. My busking rig is a Yorkville EXM that my friend owns.. Similar idea

Oddly he uses my Les Paul with my microcube gx and I plug my UBass into his monitor.. Sometimes I just play his fender acoustic guitar.. We all switch off.. Full drum set deal. Depends on who's singing.

All active stuff so I'm not even sure if the EXM has phantom power.
