Mine was from my band from '99-'02, before we got signed. It was to denote that our music was angry, but always tight and "in the pocket". Also, it denoted that we were "hungry" in the music scene and wanted to make this a successful career, like our "pockets" were "angry/ hungry" for money. Unfortunately, it disbanded due to stupid things, but it really helped me propel/ hone my skills as a bassist.

P.S. It's a bummer to see what the Urban Dictionary sees it as.

dedpool = one of my favorite comic boook characters, misspelled like he does in the comic.

If you're a fan, I'm sure you're already aware, but... They're making a Deadpool movie, I'm interested to see where they go with it...

I adopted fivestringgecko at the same time I was building my Warmoth Gecko 5-string, seen in my avatar and below! Been using both for a while now. :bassist:

I played in a band with a drummer who was a fan of Thelonious Monk. My first name is Kevin and the drummer started calling me Kevonious Monk. Then Kevonious and finally Kmonk. The nickname has stuck for 10 years now. Even my son calls me Kmonk.

BassLand- I started a website 18 years ago and wanted to have the domain name bassman, which was already taken even back then. I tried BobLee.*** but it was also taken. I settled for BassLand as it contained my initials BL My Website is BassLand.net and features the preeminent webiste on Motown Bassist James Jamerson.
