That ain't rocket science and unlike some I don't think it's hating on someone to point that out, in fact it's a pretty high level cautionary tale for folks in similar situations IMO... if he could get fired, what makes you think you're so special?

Another cautionary tale:
A young bassist (who shall remain nameless) was on another Social Network Site and posting videos of a Well Known Jazz Musician and slagging his technique and taste. I sent him a message about moderating his criticism, especially since he was a newly gigging Pro Player. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later a Bonafide Bass Icon logged on and verbally gave him a smackdown. It was really embarrassing for the Young Pro.
If you do this for a living, be nice. You never know who will be in a position to recommend you for a gig. If someone figures out who you are and the first thing they think when your name comes up is "Jerk" they will probably not recommend you for anything at all.
If you are a Casual Hobbyist or Weekend Warrior, nothing wrong with that. Just be careful with trash-talking. I just wouldn't go trash-talking on Chris Johnson of the Titans even though I am a rabid Titans fan and have played some pickup football games. He knows his gig far better than I ever will, so I have to take that in consideration.

OH I agree. All the trash talking goes nowhere....Oh by the way Chris Johnson better have a better year than last i have him on my fantasy football team....Back to Hadrian I think we should be more positive than negative. I am sure the people trashing him would not like it if it were in reverse. If he was fired I would say it is a blessing cause it opened him up to a lot more playing...so it seems. I really dont think he has problems getting a gig. If he left on his own its a win win for him.

Yeah, crazy thread. I just Googled "What's Hadrien Feraud been up to" and came across this site and forum with so many testaments from people that obviously know Hadrien personally.

It seems that it's impossible to make a mistake these days so Hadrien will always be reminded about this. Gone are the days when you could be forgiven for youthful naivety.

Don't worry Hadrien, I still love you, even if you're not as good as the bassist from Right Said Fred ;)

I'm not talking trash about Hadrien, I'm talkin about the situation as described by McLaughlin and Husband.

It is amazing that it would take a gig on that level to drive home a lesson that most people who've ever worked for someone usually learn very early on.

I still don't know why he did it and since he posted that it wasn't the reason it would be kind of difficult to explain now.

Do what the contractor hires you to do. Don't want to do it? Don't put yourself in a position to get fired, just make an amicable split. Don't burn a bridge unnecessarily.
