What happened to Hadrien Feraud?!

The new Jaco? Wow. Seriously? He is an unbelievable talent but if Victor or Oteil is not the "new" Jaco then no one is. It really shouldnt matter either. I hear a lot of Gary Willis and Patitucci in his playing ( which is a big compliment) but he does his own thing. Just like any great player. It becomes part of your vocabulary and you build on it.

It's just an analogy given to explain the new direction and impact he is having as a player. In that respect, I'd think most musicians would want that as it's exciting to have something new and fresh. Of course not everyone will view Hadrien as that, but that's the beauty of things.

I brought the quote that JM stated because everyone was viewing Hadrian more as what JM fired rather than his talent. Yes oteil, victor, John, Gary...and many more are great players but Hadrian is in there also and I just wanted to give credit where credit is do. Even if JM fired him, which very well could had been, Hadrian is still the "new" jaco in JM's mind.

"...which could very well have been"? LOL! Well considering neither JM nor Gary Husband nor Hadrien has sued that magazine for libel, I think it's pretty clear.

And I think people respect Hadrien's talents just fine.

Just give Hadrien His props... He is making a name for himself. He is a talented guy . Everybody has character defects or experiences disagreements. Live and learn.

Doesn't the book about Jaco read that Jaco was difficult to get along with...? I'm only mentioning this because Jaco was brought up in this discussion not because I think Hadrien is comparable.

Red, jim and others Im not singling you But we don't know if he had character defect or anything like that. I think we are going somewhere else with this. We started off asking what is he doing now. Right away we are going into outer space with this. I don't know him but he could be a normal guy which i'm sure he is. He is a great player, young and on the upside with his playing. I don't think anyone here knows he did anything out of the norm except he may have played to loudly for JM. Not sure that warrants him to be out of the ordinary personally. Also being a great player does not make you anti social in anyway. I mean John Coltrane was at a level that a few can reach, including hadrian and all that i read he was a wonderful person. So lets get back to reality, Hadrian is doing well and gigging with a variety of people. Who may or may not think he plays to loud.
