What is the best bass for using a pick?

I play a Warwick Corvette (2 x single coils) with a pick and it sounds great, sort of deep and growly, much better than a Fender IMO
I use a pick on all of my basses, but we have a few songs where parts are pick, parts are slap, and parts are finger-style. My StingRay is, by far, the easiest bass I have for moving between the three styles on the fly. Great pick tone, slightly wider string spacing for easy slap (and a wicked slap tone), and the pickup location and those two E-side screw mounts perfectly anchor my thumb for using fingers.

But seriously, I have seen a lot of P recommendations, but I am thinking a P/J would probably be a little better. That way I can strike the strings right above the Bridge PUP, or in-between the two PUP's.
Sorry if this seems like a cleverly disguised stupid question, but I am totally serious. I wanna buy a new bass and I am open to all experienced recommendations I can get.
So thanks to those who did not flame, and thanks to those for having a sense of humor about it, it's all good.
Nothing brings out opinions more than the mention of a pick on this board. Hey, if nothing else it makes for some interesting conversation

Wondering why you think this. I play a jazz with a pick. It sounds good to me. Personal preference, but am still curious as to why you think it's a crime to pick any bass.

My G&L SB-1 with rounds goes from a warm smooth thump using my fingers and playing closer to the neck to a brighter treble/mid heavy tone with a pick and a slight boost of the tone knob under the same amp settings. I was pretty jazzed that I was getting close to Ox's tone from the bass-only Baba O' Rielly track at a show last weekend using a pick and moving the tone to about 80%.
Mouradian. You won't see many people recommending them because few people have played one. You'd need to be able to afford 3 Rics and be staggeringly lucky to even find one for sale.
Since you can't have one of those, any decent bass should work. Maybe try out a bunch and pick the one you like the best? No, that's crazy talk.

Obviously, one with a pick-guard!
I'm semi-serious, a place where you can tuck a pick and always know where it is when you switch basses.
But, this advice is coming from a criminal who often plays a " jazz bass " with a pick.
