This bass … owned by bass legend Leroy Hodges, it’s a 66 Jazz in candy apple red.

Once owned by my brother, who sold it for $125.00, Leroy picked it up from a local auto repair shop owner for about half that. It was used on any number of records from HI studios in Memphis, he won’t sell it, I’ve asked him.

Well, honestly, I couldn’t be happier with my Spector Euro 5LT (the one in my profile pic). It’s a truly wonderful bass that sounds great, sets up low and fast and is *extremely* stable. With all that said, I’m still dreaming of one day owning an Anthony Jackson Presentation Bass.

I'm at 17 months and counting. Order option is about 9 months.

My last option order was March 1, 2020 and I got it in nine weeks ! That was with having it sent back from Quality inspection for missing matching headstock. Since they have gone to "build to order "with less options , I went Custom Shop for this one before I get priced out of EVER being able to afford one . Whatcha wait'n on?

Believe it or not, now that I have discovered the beauty of the supershort scale basses (25,5") my dream bass would be a EADGC, light, custom and supershort scale 5 strings. Bolt on, standard 19mm spacing, two good quality jazz pickups, bypassable active preamp Vol, Balance, Bass-Mid-Treble. Steel frets, 12" radius, heavy bridge and Gotoh mini tuners. Straplocks.

A mid sixties black Jazz with matching headstock would be nice. That's pretty basic but I could imagine an elaborate fantasy of obtaining it from a castle full of maidens like in the Monty Python's Holy Grail movie. After paying the maidens for it with lots of carnal actions, I'd proceed to rock a stadium with it and make loads of platinum albums. Now that's a dream.

For better or worse, I suffer from "Restless Artist Syndrome", so much like actual dreams, what captures my imagination changes from day-to-day. That being said, I know what "canvas" I prefer to work with; Jazz bodies and necks with curvy fretboards. Beyond that, there are too many options for me to be satisfied with just one.

So, while I'm cursed with this restlessness , it's pushed me to assemble a wide variety of instruments, many of which still make me happy . (...and, hopefully, other people as well.)

Probably a very understated looking JB body and pick guard ( zero pastels), PJ pick up configuration, a PB bound neck, and ebony finger board with ivory block position markers.

And not silly colors. Regular, normal, desirable colors.

I am not the only one who would buy one and Fender is missing the boat on this in a big, big way.
