What is your "giant killer" bass?....

View media item 5535I'm a black sheep even amongst Peavey USA fans as my 90s Foundations kill everything for sound and reliability. I also am an outcast amongst Ibanez fans as my cheap EDA900 Ergodyne punches in the same weight class (no pics of that one I'm afraid).

Doesn't bother me. I love these old beasts and the black one has done gigs on 3 continents.

I really liked my Sire M7. Super versatile bass, comfy to play. Sold it to help fund a new custom build, though.

My Sterling Ray34ca, what a beast! I had many Stingrays and could never fully bond with them. The slimmer neck profile (1.5'') of the Ray34ca is just perfect for me. What a blast it is to play!

I have many Giant killer Bass....Mikro Ibanez for example. Cheap but well done with a personal sound and good J and PJ Rev sound only a little bit noisy.
Yamaha RBX A2 is a giant Killer in Jazz Bass sound....more modern and versatile.
Maruszczyck Elwood L4 with Delano HSB is a giant killer not cheap....

More Peavey's... T-20 and a Fury. The LP blue T-20 is an outstanding bass more balls than the red Fury. The T-20 resides in a stand with a Lakland Bob Glaub and a G&L SB-2. It doesn't necessarily kill them but it stands tall amongst them. Its a true player and I pick it up every day.

Ibanez Mezzo 5 string. As mostly a Warwick player, this thing is a whole different experience. It's 32" scale and has such a smooth satin thinner neck. So much fun to play and it sounds way too good for my expectations

Cheapest bass I own and I play it just as much as my GPS Warwicks and MIA Fender

Lakland Skyline 5502 fretless. It's just a phenomenal bass in every regard.

The T=40's are very heavy.
The rest of my collection (11 Peavey's) are fairly regular weight and the Patriot is really light. My T-45 isn't overly heavy at all.

Another USA Peavey. Late 1990’s GBass. 18v 3 band preamp, graphite neck, weighs in under 8 lbs, sounds like an in-tune thunderstorm. It would have been considered a giant at one time.

$150 with hard shell case.
