Love that song! I just saw the Tedeschi Trucks Band for the 2nd time at the Doheny Blues Festival last month, amazing show. I'm bummed Oteil isn't playing with them anymore, but they were still awesome!

Oh, and I'm working on Stevie's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" (one of my favorite bass lines to play right now, it just has one of the strongest grooves ever) and Allman Bros "Ramblin' Man". That one's a fun groove too, but it's one of those songs that's really difficult to learn note for note because Berry was just variating and improvising most of the song on the recording. Very fun song to play though, once i got the "feel" of the song down!

I started jamming with a co-workers band who are all in their early 40's (I'm 62) so I'm having a lot of fun with these. Even though I've been a weekend warrior for years my gigging has been based around country, pop and 60's rock so it's been a welcome step outside my "comfort" zone.

Working on today:

Just finished these:
Crazy Train - Ozzy
Cumbersome - Stone Temple
Vaseline - Stone Temple
You Got Another Thing Coming - Judas Priest

It's been kind of nice to show these "young" bucks us old farts can play rock & roll and maybe even challenge them a bit.

I just started up a 4 piece jazz ensemble with some buddies of mine at church.. We still need a keyboardist.. but right now we are drums,bass,guitar and sax. We are starting from scratch.. and so far we are working on

I was just working on 'Reach Out (I'll be there)'. Just when I tought I quite had it, I listened to the isolated bass track... :(

Dayum, is Jamerson a genius... All those little nuances in what seems a pretty simple bass line! I'm going to try it with the Standing in the Shadows of Motown book soon...
