What to do about confederate flag bass?

I am getting a nice Peavey bass in trade for a Jasmine by Takamine acoustic... The Peavey model has 2 super ferrites parallel to each other. I forget the model but remember it is a US made Peavey from the 80s. I didn't get to see the headstock so someone should know off the top of their head.

It has the confederate flag on it. It is nicely done (if that can even be said,) and I don't want to turn away this trade or refinish it.

I would rather obscure it with another symbol(s) that contrasts it. Like maybe the black power fist right in the middle of the pickups or as an extension of the black pickup, and maybe a rainbow colored peace sign in one of the open areas. I don't want to overdo it, but I want something prominent enough that people will look twice after they see the confederate flag, and maybe laugh.

Maybe someone else has a better idea. What would you do with this bass?

Yeah, you gotta do something about that. Some of the meaning behind that design is pretty terrible. Why not bite the bullet and refinish it? Or just find a different one?

It's a Foundation by the way, which under that paint is a pretty nice bass.

That bass is begging for a refinish.

Just sell the thing. Peavey foundations in good condition can be had for $200 and are easy to find. It's not worth the trouble to sand the evil off.

I say embrace it.

Start wearing cowboy boots/hat and spray paint "shag THE YANKS" on the back upside down so if anyone gives you a hard time you can just flip the bass up and give a "Yee-haw."

Or do the black power one. I like the look of that.

You might be able to get close to a super hero bass like captain America if the shield is big enough. But I'd repaint it.
