What to do about confederate flag bass?

I like the Dukes of Hazard and all but that finish would have to go, along with the frets. Maybe find a B.A. bridge for it as well. There's something about those Ferrites with a bare rosewood fingerboard..

You might be able to make a kind of Union Jack looking flag out of it but instead of a blue background yours would have red background. Just tell people you're a colorblind dyslexic. Then the only people you'll tick off are the Brits.

Sell it.
Folks who get their <deleted word> in a bind over a flag are <you fill it in pal>.
Get over it and research history worldwide and color(race)-wide.

How much you want?
A white Foundation is on its way here now but that one is welcome to keep it company if you're going to destroy a piece of Peavey history. PM me prior to wrecking the thing.

Yep. Though I can think of a few different words for them than "folks!"

Easy, don't want the thread shut down....

I'd be glad to use it at private parties attended by out-of-state southern football fanatics near College Station.
Those folks would LOVE to be photo'd with it on them(we have a few audience participation songs where a handful of audience members get to wear guitars for those songs on-stage with us).

Yeah, it sounds perfect for that situation. People would have a blast.

Also, the bass was made in Mississippi, people! It's not that unbelievable.

To some people it's no big deal, and to others it'd be no different than performing in white hoods and burning crosses.

Could you play this bass in Brooklyn or at the CMT Awards? Probably not. If you can't play it everywhere maybe you shouldn't play it anywhere.

Yeah I am moving to NYC...Though this symbol CAN BE interpreted as harmless, most of the time it is not, and I don't really feel it represents me 'as is.' I think it would be most harmless in Georgia since it's basically the state flag.

On the other hand I have had several people interested in acquiring it. Though I wasn't planning to sell it, I am not dead set on keeping it, and since I am moving to NYC, home of the $2000 500 sq ft apartment so I could use cash. I am going to tell everyone to make offers. I am open to trades.

Let me know how much you would pay for it shipped or if you have a trade proposal I would listen. I don't even have it yet so I am just listening. When I get it I will take pics and list it for sale.

Thanks,
Basi

I really wanted this bass because I love 80s USA Peaveys (other than the t30s, I don't like the bulky neck) and I love super ferrites. I was willing to overlook the finish as long as I could modify it, but some people want it as is. I am not married to having it and every man has his price. I am open to getting rid of it.
