This is me with my first bass a Tele-Star T2-B Semi-Acoustic Teardrop back in late 1967. I put the Vox logo (a piece of paper cut out from a Vox catalog) on the headstock. Yeah I know, nice shirt.

This is the bass today with the Vox logo removed in a newer hard shell case that I bought for it 25 yrs ago.

Wow, you kept the bass in perfect condition!
If I see the first picture - I presume you played in a Beach Boys tribute band? ;-)
My first bass was a 1962 Fender Precision, rosewood/sunburst/tort pickguard.
My mom bought it from her hairdresser for $100 including original tweed case.
It had battle scars like you wouldn't believe from real honest work.

This was in the late '70s, and when I put a set of Rotosounds on it my mind exploded.
