Okay, so, I have about $150 to spend, and I'm starting from nothing except a TU-3 tuner and an EHX LPB-1. What pedal would you buy to get your pedal board started? Would it be an OD? Or a Sans-amp of some kind? Compressor?

It really depends on what kinda music you're playing.
For church, delay/reverb and a volume pedal.Oh yeah, sorry. I play a lot of worship music at my church. I also play out with some indie/alternative rock bands in medium sized venues around the Cincinnati area. I also play in a punk/rock band sometimes too. So really a pretty good mix of styles. Also, right now I'm playing a Fender Jazz bass (which I might sell, as it just not my style) through an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro into a Ampeg 8x10 cab. Thanks!
I'd say some type of overdrive could do you some good.
Not sure what kind... That's a deep deep rabbit hole.
I'd start with a second hand Zoom B3. Use it to learn what you like and need and then sell it some time later and buy the bits you want.
Thanks for the advice, man, but I know enough about effects in general to stay away from a multi-effects unit. Not that there's anything wrong with them or people who use them, but I'm not really looking to go that route.
Actually, the Zoom B3 is very good. Some of the FX models are as good as their targets, other's less so. But hey, it's your money.
