What would be your ideal jazz bass?

The Bridge is a schaller ... the 2 1/2" to 2 5/8" is perfect for the 4-2-5 conversion. The nut is a blank.

Favorite Jazz I ever played was a Ocean Turquoise Metallic MIJ 75 RI. Amazing instrument. After gassing for that for ages, I started thinking about other possibilities....
The ideal one I've been rolling about in my head for a while now is:
Burgundy Mist (maybe matched headstock, I'm not decided)
70s Logo.
Tort Guard
Bound and Block Rosewood neck (75 Japan RI shape)
60s Pup spacing
Stack Knobs
Either a Curtis Novak EB-0 mudbucker or Darkstar in the middle position
Stereo output option
Sooo.....essentially a Fender Japan 75 RI, with a new paint job, new pups, and stack knobs.

Thread is a little old, but it addresses the question I've been grappling with for a few weeks now. Basically, I want a five-string version of my 1974 Jazz Bass.
-Alder body
-Mocha finish with black three-ply guard
-Rosewood with white binding and inlays
-1.75" nut spacing
-18mm string spacing at the bridge
-Medium frets
-70's pickup positions
-Medium 'C' neck shape
-Stock Fender bent bridge
-Probably go with Fralins. I'll know after the rewound bridge PU is installed in my '74 later this week. MAYBE an active option. Have to think about it a bit more.
Swear to God, I am having the hardest time finding a bass in this configuration. In the industry, "70's" automatically denotes "ash and maple," which directly isn't my experience AT ALL. My sound is the alder/rosewood + 70's spacing. It's a perfect niche for fingerstyle and low-mid punch.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that Carey, Jimmy, or Roger can build it for me, but I really don't want to spend more than $2k, so it's used or bust for me. And with J-5's, it just seems like 60's spacing is the norm. If the American Deluxe Jazz 5 had 70's, I'd be on it like white on rice.
So how about, TB folks? Other than the Victor Bailey, which has a mahogany body that I would prefer to avoid, has Fender EVER had a production J5 with 70's spacing? I mean, even the JBV from Fender Japan is 60's.

- Master Volume, Master Tone, Rotary Switch (bridge, both series, both parallel, neck)
- P bass neck
- Gotoh String through bridge
Hope to finish this project by the end of the month.
