That's what I was thinking.

The main Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, etc.) will probably never be allowed to enter the public domain. They'll have to pry the rights from Walt Disney's own cold, dead fingers. And I'm sure whoever's in charge of the Disney estate will never let that happen.
Apparently Steamboat Willie era Mickey Mouse is now public domain. John Oliver is using its likeness in episodes of Last Week Tonight.

Few different things in rotation now:

Beef on Netflix. Kind of a dark comedy/drama revenge themed series. Really liking it so far.

The Mandalorian season 3. Some weak eps throughout (the one with Jack Black was awful), but the finale delivered. And I loved Gus Fring's new black "suit."

New season of Ted Lasso: meh so far. Considering it's the last season, they better get with it.

The Pope's Exorcist was very bad. The story was bad. It wasn't scary. The kid actor was terrible. I laughed out loud several times at things that weren't supposed to be funny. Awful, awful movie.
I got that feeling just from watching the 30-second TV ad for it. It seemed to be saying, "We just threw together a bunch of unoriginal, gross, demonic stuff with religious implications because people eat that up." I decided to pass.:meh:

The Mandalorian episode with Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd seemed like a parody. A poor one.

I've enjoyed Ted Lasso but yeah, it seems like the well is running dry in the writers department.

Speaking of crappy horror movies, I started two series last night..

The Rig - supernatural thriller set on a North Sea oil rig. This got terrible reviews, but the first episode was entertaining.

The Silent Sea - Korean sci-fi thriller set on a lunar mission. This got so-so reviews and the first episode showed some gaping science holes in the plot, but I'll stay with it for a while anyway.

The next season of Sweet Tooth starts on Thursday. I really liked that one.
