Whatcha watching?

Recently watched "The Maltese Falcon." It's actually the first Humphrey Bogart movie I've ever seen. I was thoroughly entertained.

Now, here comes one of the most "DUH!" statements of all time: Humphrey Bogart was a true movie star. In "The Maltese Falson," he is about as charismatic as anyone I've seen on screen. I've seen other stars from that era, and I've often been unimpressed. Not so with Bogie.
I saw that in college and really enjoyed it. Casablanca is quite good as well.

I started watching this yesterday during lunch on a religious Channel and got caught up in it. A mother goes to the hospital for drug treatment leaving her oldest son to take care of his younger siblings. One of which is trying to learn guitar using their father's old guitar.

^ This is most important. Please let us know.

It's on repeat here, sound down, with a playlist set to shuffle — tunes that form the understory of one percussive direction — so I can entertain the eyeballs while the ears and the melon and such get a good workout. All the ingrained tropes are there, like they're set in stone. Boy meets boy. Boy meets girl. All meet bad man. Complication. The adventure begins. …

The drug references make the most sense to me, the way I'm feeling. It's a bit like easy rider, in this sense, but in cyberspace: panoramic vistas, hostile universe, lurking in the shadows. But this time the good guys win. References to the matrix don't go unnoticed. And the blue and the red. 'Nuffsaid.

I stopped playing arcade games altogether, after I tired of this one, not altogether dissimilar, with the 2D vector vibe 'n' shizzle.

Doncha do your dough!

Here's a little glimpse from tonight's TRON soundtrack,

TRON was definitely my favorite arcade video game in the early 80s. I saw the film also, but I don't remember much about it. And right now I can't remember whether the movie or the game came out first.
Pretty sure it was the movie. It was a very strange movie at the time.
The movie was first. God awful movie. The making-of is far more interesting. They put so much effort into that look. The sequel is great. Solid movie. The cartoon on Disney is entertaining.

I just saw bogart in an old jack benny rerun from the 50 yesterday. Even in the silly skit they were doing, you could tell the guy had IT!
