Now I am on a Morgan Freeman kick. I went back and watched the episode 'Stuart' from the Amazon Prime TV series Solos.
Yowsah, that episode was powerful, at least in my opinion.

You may want to watch the six before it first. They aren't great in themselves, but the last episode makes more sense if you watch the other six first. Plus, Mr. Freeman narrates them. However, the last episode is still a great one even if you don't watch the others.

I'm into season 2. Definitely enjoying it, but it's not really what I expected. I'm loving Silo, however. I don't mind that it's wandering a little from the books.

Over the weekend we watched "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1979) and "Saving Private Ryan".

I tried watching All quiet on the Western front (the new one) with my SO a while back but I couldn't stomach it. It was too real and too sad to see all these young boys go to their deaths. I usually love gore, horror and all kinda of messed up stuff but when it's that realistic and emotional, I'm out. Great movie, though. From what I've seen.

We watched Groundhog Day yesterday. Wow that movie hits totally different as an adult. It used to be on cable every year during christmas and as a child, I didn't get it. Now? Holy that main character guy was insufferable most of the movie. Hated him to bits, heh.

True, but that's kind of the point. What's so well done about "Groundhog Day" is that Phil (Murray) goes through all of the stages of what is essentially grief. Watch it again with that in mind.

You're talking about the first season? Did everyone know he was a drunk or was it just Joel Kinneman and the people close to him? And he was fat, right? You'd think that would be more of a problem before being approved for that kind of work.

Season two, and upon viewing subsequent interviews 'everyone' knew was a drunk and a burn-out. There is NO WAY. Now I like that he's on a redemption arc and I can see trouble on the horizon, but still - there is no way a guy like that ever, ever, ever goes up again. Enjoyable show, but there are a few things that have knocked my appreciation for it.

I can't really remember the details. But by the second season, despite personal problems, he was a legendary astronaut right? That could be enough of an excuse. It's far from perfect but I love the show.

We started The Handmaid's Tale last night. I knew the basic premise of the story and I generally like dystopian fiction, but wow, this is dark. From what I've read, the series is good for two seasons or so, then gets bogged down and repetitive.

That’s fairly accurate. I stuck around longer than that, but I bailed out after the last season before the current one. From what I understand, the first season is basically the entire book.
