We started The Handmaid's Tale last night. I knew the basic premise of the story and I generally like dystopian fiction, but wow, this is dark. From what I've read, the series is good for two seasons or so, then gets bogged down and repetitive.

That’s fairly accurate. I stuck around longer than that, but I bailed out after the last season before the current one. From what I understand, the first season is basically the entire book.

The show starts off strong, and then you start getting angry at characters for making decisions that anyone would only ever make to extend a story line.

Another example for why I prefer series that are designed to cover the source material in a season or two and end.

I can't really remember the details. But by the second season, despite personal problems, he was a legendary astronaut right? That could be enough of an excuse. It's far from perfect but I love the show.

It's fun, but it's... ridiculous, and no, there is no way they'd ever let him fly again. It has just enough realism to it that that sort of thing really bugs me. I can get behind a show that's just silly and inconsistencies won't bother me, but this show is trying to have it both ways and I am, I say, I say boy, perturbated!

Watched a one hour Rocky and Bullwinkle thing last night which included Mr. Peabody & Sherman and Fractured Fairy Tales. A nice mixture of adult and kiddy humor with a bunch of great puns throughout. I think it was from 1959.

Watched a one hour Rocky and Bullwinkle thing last night which included Mr. Peabody & Sherman and Fractured Fairy Tales. A nice mixture of adult and kiddy humor with a bunch of great puns throughout. I think it was from 1959.

That was, and is, an outstanding show for kids and adults. The people who created Rocky and Bullwinkle also created George of the Jungle, which included Tom Slick and Super Chicken, and is also a great show.
