Whatcha watching?

Just watching The Boys and House of the Dragon right now. Love me some dragons. Last week's show might have been the best episode yet. Haven't seen the new one from last night yet. I forgot to watch until it was too late and I went to sleep as it came on. The Boys will be over this week so I'll probably find another show to watch. Not sure what as of yet. I tried to watch the first episode of Sunny on Apple but it didn't really draw me in. If anyone is watching that one, should I give it another shot?

Tour de France 2024 on peacock. IMO the most amazing athletic event every year
Agreed! I watch the shortened NBC Sports stage recaps every night. Although I have watched the extended coverage for each stage, but that's a lot of hours even if you're not in the saddle. It ain't officially July until I hear Phil Liggett's play by play.

Try His Dark Materials on hbo. Alternate universe/multiverse story about the nature of reality, totalitarianism, and people with talking animal companions that are their souls. Very good adaptation of some of my favorite books.

Rewatching Loudermilk and Lillyhammer. Tried to get into The Three Body Problem (american version) and found it bland.
I liked TBP, but it falls way short of the books by dumbing down the science for a general audience and introducing unnecessary characters and plot lines. The second and third books are great hard sci-fi. I'm not sure they can do them justice in a TV series, but I'd like to see them try.

The one that's out now that isn't well received. But she's in full alien make up on CGI sets. She might be great in it for all I know. No reason for her not to be, I just hate Star Wars.
Huh.... wonder if she played the alien Padawan who got killed in the Acolyte. I don't think the show is as bad as webragers say, but no, it's not anything rave about.

Started 'Supacell' on Netflix last night. It's about a collection of black people living their lives (poverty stricken divorced dad, social worker, drug dealer, gang members, delivery driver, lady going through sickle cell treatment...) in South London, who suddenly discover they have different superpowers (super strength, time/space travel, telekinesis, invisibility, speed...). It's gritty, set in the more poverty stricken areas of South London, and if you can get past the language, and violence, it's quite enjoyable.

No movie was better than the associated book. The chinese version of TBP was 100% better than the american version shows.
