It takes a specific mindset to get into it. A good friend/musical partner is a Freudian/Lacanian analyst and he absolutely LOVED that show. I don't have his background/training, but I thoroughly enjoyed it too. Not as much as the movie, mind you, which is phenomenal.Watched the first episode of Dead Ringers last night. This is a limited series remake of the classic David Cronenberg film. Quite possibly the worst TV I've watched in several years.![]()
I watched it right after the latest ep of Severance. That juxtaposition probably didn't help.It takes a specific mindset to get into it. Severence is pure genius. Dead Ringers is an interesting and very well made exercise. Rachel Weisz is brilliant though.I watched it right after the latest ep of Severance. That juxtaposition probably didn't help.
Severance continues to blow my mind every week.
I try to not question the logistics with this one.I have such a this-is-stupid-and-I-don't-care-this-is-stupid-and-I-can't-get-past-it relationship with this show.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Monkey, unlike Longlegs, the only horror of which was how overhyped/overrated it was.The Monkey.
Solid little horror movie. It was fun.
It was an effective movie. It was economical, if that makes sense. They took just enough time with things to keep you invested. The tone was just right. It was just really well put together.I thoroughly enjoyed The Monkey, unlike Longlegs, the only horror of which was how overhyped/overrated it was.
I've tried a few of those. Yuck, and I generally don't mind mushrooms.I'm "watching" (read: listening to, while alternating between working on my laptop and tidying up my dining room) a youtube deep dive on mushroom based coffee alternatives. Like history of "mushroom coffee" up to background on subscription based products and their marketing, and taste testing brands. It's 10% information and 90% entertaining color commentary, but I got a quick cackle out of the presenter reading a review that was "it tastes like dog poo" and responding "well that's not promising, because I don't like that flavor"
