Whatcha watching?

Can’t believe I got roped into watching this, but now I can’t stop. It’s got some historical basis too and very well written with some great acting. Since we don’t have HBO, I have to wait for the next season to come out on DVD. :roflmao:

I just finished Season 1 of Yellowjackets, because it became available on Paramount+ finally. I really enjoy a good mystery box type show with spooky vibes and it delivered on that, with plenty of interpersonal drama, queer representation, and a stacked cast. I did fall into their trap of letting me watch the first season for free as the third is airing, because now if I want to watch Season 2 I have to pay lol

That's ok though, because this thread is a great reminder that I'm overdue for a Babylon 5 rewatch.

The Pitt.
I dig it after watching the first five episodes. I miss ER, so with Carter as the lead actor in this show, it feels much like ER to me.

Started this this week. Back then, ER was a step up in realism of medical shows. This is at a whole 'nother level. Noah "John Carter" Wyle all grown up is killing it, and the other actors are really good too.

Watched "Alien: Romulus" the other day. It was pretty good. Worth the rental fee. A couple friends really hyped it, so I was expecting a lot. I still love the trope of having open barrel fires on space stations. Never gets old. Alien blood got way more powerful too it seems. Solid movie if you like the franchise.

Got Apple TV for Severance (ngl last 2eps were not Severance at all) so I started Silo. Looking to finish that before I rotate my streaming money to Showtime for Yellowjackets s03.

Solid action movie. It's very well done. Good pacing and action, and despite taking place deep underwater, there weren't long shots of low light action where you can't tell what's happening. They screwed up the ending. I recommend leaving immediately after the resolution to the plot (you'll know when this happens). Whoever decided the movie needed ten more minutes after that is a shmuck.

As a former scuba diver, there's no way I'd watch that movie.

•Primate and paleo-anthropology videos on YouTube.

•Sheetrock hanging/mudding and window casing videos on YouTube because I needed to do some of that.

•Re-watched the movie, "Hostiles" starring Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi and Adam Beach. Saw it when it first hit the theaters back in 2017 and came away with a much higher opinion of Bale as an actor, but Rosamund Pike really stole the show with her portrayal of a bereaved widow and mother. If you like westerns and haven't seen it, I recommend it highly (disclaimer: very graphic violence, not for the kiddies). I'd put it in my "top 10" western movie list and I've pretty much seen 'em all, going back to the B&W ones made in the 1930s and 1940s.
